I must come back… I want to try them all! The Greek potato salad was delish also.
The best! Hands down. Enough said.
I freakin love this place! I keep wanting to try new sandwiches but i always stick to the same few. I’m borderline addicted to the chicken melt/add bacon and tomato. A+!
Go Cocks!. Wonderful staff that works feet away from you in open kitchen. The Monroe is my absolute #1 favorite sandwich in Columbia, although several others are excellent as well. A little pricy for what you get though as a la carte. tables are tight at lunchtime, get there early or late. Potato soup is best I’ve had anywhere.
Great Sandwhiches. My boyfriend and I eat lunch here every Saturday. Christy and her crew do an amazing job. We’ve tried about half the menu at this point and have never been disappointed. However, our favorites (as the entire staff knows) are the Edisto, the Duncan, and the tuna melt. Really good stuff!
All my sandwiches have been great. I’ve eaten here multiple times as have my wife and kids and every sandwich we’ve had has been great. The place is clean, parking around back is adequate, and there isn’t much competition in the neighborhood if you want a good sandwich. No sandwich in particular stands out, they were all pretty good.
The Best Sandwich Shop in Columbia!. I have been a loyal 5th Avenue Deli patron since they opened several years ago. It is such a well-kept secret, and selfishly, I want to keep it that way! However, I felt the need to let everyone know what a great job these folks do– if you have not been there before, it’s time to visit! The sandwiches on their menu are creative and original- not your typical sub shop kind of place. Their menu is large and even the pickiest of diners will be pleased! My favorite sandwiches are the Turkey Pesto (turkey, swiss and pesto mayo pressed on ciabatta), the Ray Tanner (turkey, cranberry mayo, swiss, and bacon, served either cold on Wheat with lettuce and tomato, or hot pressed on ciabatta), and the South Walker (Ham, Cheddar, Chipotle Garlic Mayo, Bacon, Lettuce, Tomato, and Purple Onion, pressed on ciabatta). I usually rotate between those three each time I go, but have ventured out and tried an assortment of other sandwiches on the menu, which are all delicious as well!Any time I take someone with me who has never been to 5th Avenue Deli before, they are absolutely floored, and then they become addicted, like myself! The only gripe I have about 5th Avenue is that on rare occasions, the service can be a tad slow if they are really busy. However, it is worth the wait!
