I find myself struggling with Cellar. The food is spectacular BUT your night needs to be flexible. They DO NOT take reservations. This left me and my wife waiting an hour for a place at the bar to in turn wait for a table. We had to leave before a table was available because it was too late. A+ for food. D+ for reservation policy.

    Ga-ga-galorious! Ga-LOR-ious!

Excellent! The three course meal is a great deal. The seared tuna nachos and duck confit quesidilla were yummy. The swordfish was very good. The mango spring rolls were good for desert and breakfast the following morning. Can’t wait to go back and eat again. They also sell Jack Rudy Tonic, which makes a great gin and tonic. A must try!

I like the place and try to give them business when I can, including bringing groups. But tonight wanted to have a glass of wine with 2 friends and were turned away. There were plenty of seats at the long tables for us and we offered to leave when diners arrived who needed our seats, but there was no negotiation. Felt slighted and will not be going back. Not even an apology from the unaccomodating hostess. Too bad, because I went there regularly.

Most don’t get past Mr Friendly’s in this lot, but the real gem is Cellar. Great wine & beer selection and a tasty menu. The $19 three-course is one of the best deals in town for a good dinner. Try the tuna nachos!

Favorite columbia dinner.. This place is an absolute gem. The three course meal is one of the best deals in Columbia, and every bite will have you wishing you didn’t have to eat any other food ever again. We came for my Mother’s birthday the first time around, and the staff was extremely friendly and accommodating, laid back and yet professional. In my opinion, the food is five star worthy but there isn’t any snobbishness surrounding the place to hint at this (thank goodness). We had a great time, and my boyfriend took me again for my 21st birthday dinner. Just recently, I brought my sister and her husband who were in from out of state to Cellar, and even though they are notoriously hard to impress, they were in love with it and said that they wished they had something similar in Jackson. All around a fantastic meal and fantastic experience every single time. Don’t miss the seared rare yellowfin tuna nachos!

Great Wines- But Don’t Miss the Food!. Those who are new to the idea of tapas or become frustrated with the traditional tapas portion size will be in luck. Although advertised as such, these tapas items are delicious and LARGE. They have a three course combo for $19 which we did and ended up taking most of it home! Enjoy your dinner and drinks on the common pub tables or eat and relax on their leather couches.
