One of the only places in Columbia with consistent pour over coffee available. Their espresso drinks are also very good. Other drinks non-coffee are available, and even has a selection of beer and wine. Their food options are good, but I come for the coffee. The atmosphere isn’t as cozy as I would like a coffee shop to be, but the quality of the coffee available more than makes up for it.
Disappointing. The hot chocolate was Hershey’s syrup with warm milk. It was very disappointing and not worth $3.50.
Good but room for improvement. This is a coffee geek’s paradise for sure. Since the last time i went the breakfast menu is expanded. The food was tasty and different and made right in front of you. The coffee is pour-over style — the way i make it at home with a Chemex flask. The coffee was not hot enough and too weak. They serve it in the flask that you pour into your cup. If you can see through the coffee, it aint strong enough. It tasted good though and i do like the atmosphere — very urban and bohemian and a nice difference from the famous place down the block. Thumbs up but with friendly advice re temp and strength. Definitely make the trip.
First, just let me say I absolutely LOVE the coffee and the food at Drip. However, I find I am disappointed by the service. It seems as if you are not a regular there, you will not even get as much as a smile. Today, I went in and ordered several lattes and pastries for my family that is in town visiting. The guy helping me was downright rude. He was short in his responses to me, didn’t answer when I asked a question and seemed annoyed to be serving me. I still tipped well (because I am in the service industry and think you should always tip well) and he didn’t acknowledge it at all. I would love to support this place more, but it’s hard to do so when I actually feel uncomfortable ordering there. My suggestion to you, Drip: be a little friendlier to your newer customers, and maybe I’ll become a regular.
One of Columbia’s best places. The food they create us delicious and tasty hand crafted coffee to boot. Fantastic atmosphere and very good service. The guy with the gnarly beard is particularly friendly and personable.
Great Place. If you are into pour-overs you will like this college town coffee shop. Most people are already used to spending over $3 for a cup of coffee (think Starbucks) so this place will seem a great find. For just over $2 you get a great cup of quality coffee brewed in a really good way. I didn’t eat here, but I saw (and smelled) them cook a bunch of sandwiches. The food looked VERY tasty. I would go back just to try some of their cafe selections.
Great stop!. We stopped at Drip on our way through town on a long drive to KY from the coast… We were not disappointed! My better-half is obsessed with pour-overs and fancy-snobby coffees and he was entirely impressed. The food options were surprisingly tasty and not too high-priced for what they were. I believe we had the Brie and Honey Sandwich? It was fantastic. Service was also super friendly.
