Strongly recommend. We had such a great time at Ristorante Divino! From the moment my husband and I entered up until we left we felt like special guests, they truly have great service and not to mention the best presented and tasting food I have had in a long time, I am looking forward to my next visit!Amazing Place. We had such a great time at Ristorante Divino! From the moment we entered until when we left we were treated with such kindness, it was such a nice ambience and not to mention the best food I have had in a long time, a bit pricey but well worth the meal, I am looking forward to my next visit!

Just plain bad. Went for dinner and literally cannot say anything good about it. When we came in there were literally only two customers at the bar, yet we were ignored for a few minutes until a waitress came to seat us. The maitre’d, who I’m assuming is the owner, never acknowledged us. When we were seated, we weren’t given menus. When the waiter came, yet again no menus. I asked for menus and received them, and then had to ask again to see a wine list. Already by this point I’m annoyed. We ordered a couple of glasses of wine which were fine and the appetizer (fried artichoke hearts with a goat cheese stuffing) were pretty good. Looking up right? Wrong. Our entrees came out and it was bad from first sight. First, it was obvious the plates had died under the warming lamps. They were literally too hot to touch – like a magnitude hotter than your freshly microwaved plate in a cheap mexican restaurant. Everything was off – the duck, ordered medium, was well done. Rubbery, bland, depressing. The potatoes, meant to be crispy bites, were bland, mushy, and grainy. The sauce was over-reduced, salty, and one note. In theory, it sounded like a good dish. In reality, it should have come out of chaffing dishes at a wedding. My plate wasn’t much better. The rack of lamb was wildly inconsistent – a few bites were at proper temperature, but most ranged from very rare to a blue rare. They were crusted in something which had no effect on the dish, and whatever crispiness it may have been designed to impart was missing. Again, my sides weren’t quite right. The mashed potatoes were bland, and the spinach was just ok. Really, I can’t imagine this could have been a worse meal. Crap food, meh service, all for the low price of just over a hundred dollars. I’d looked forward to going to this restaurant for quite some time now – I was sorely mistaken.

A nicer Italian dining experience. Inviting ambience, attentive service. The oysters were inconsistent in size and could’ve been more interesting. Entrees were executed well. Staff reports many menu items/ingredients made fresh. 8/10. Will visit again.

Where Should I Begin?. Where do I begin? I dined at Ristorante Divino yesterday evening at 7:35 for the first time. I chose this particular restaurant due to the above average reviews on this website and it being of Italian cuisine. I had reservations for my girlfriend and I, we were celebrating her birthday. Upon arrival I noticed there was valet parking. I am happy that I chose not to utilize this service, since the valet was asleep in his chair. He promptly awakened as we must have startled him when we approached. I would like you to keep in mind that it is still daylight at this time, not that this should matter. Once inside the restaurant I was slightly confused as to what we should do next. There was no greeter, no host and no one to speak to about my reservations. The bartender offered no help as we stood there for a couple minutes waiting on the hostess to return. A couple minutes is by no means a lengthy time, just the awkwardness made it seem longer. Once the hostess arrived she was very polite and apologized for our wait. She immediately looked up my reservation and told me it would be a few minutes while they prepare a table. This is not unusual for a crowded weekend or even a Thursday evening. However, it was Monday and there were very few people and many tables open. When the hostess came back we were seated in a booth that was backed up to the bar. This was not an ideal seat but being the bar was mostly empty I did not mind. After being seated we were greeted by our server and given the wine list. The wine list was quite extensive, especially for such a small venue. Wine prices were above average than what I expected and we were not offered a sample of the wines selected. Turns out the wines we selected were quite good so there was no real need for a sample. The server was very polite and seemed enthused when presenting the chefs specials which included appetizers. For starters we selected the fried calamari. The calamari was a bit small and tasted average once I lightly salted it and squeezed the lemon over it. Two sauces joined the dish, a red sauce that was a little spicy but quite good and a green sauce which was absolutely delicious. For entrees, we both selected items from the chefs specials of the night. I ordered the rack of boar and she ordered a beef tip and pasta dish which included tomatoes and mushrooms in a brown sauce. This is the point where the meal went completely downhill. When served I was told to be careful due to the plate being very hot. This was not the case. At first glance the meal looked quite enticing. The boar was not burned at all and the outer edges appeared to be crispy. I almost didnt mind the spinach looking mushy and having mashed potatoes included as a side. As I began cutting into my boar, with the butter knife I was provided, I noticed it to be a little more pink than I desired. This being the first time I have tried this dish I continued on. As I mentioned earlier, the plate was not hot at all and neither was the boar. The temperature of the meat was closer to cold than it was hot. The first bite was mildly tender but lacked any flavor and tasted watery. A brown sauce was underlying the boar but provided no additional flavor and the consistency was very thin. At this point I was thankful for the bread and the mashed potatoes. I sampled the spinach but it was as terrible as it looked. It looked and tasted as if it had been boiled in water, drained and then mashed into a ball. My girlfriends dish was not much better and I was not impressed with the presentation at all. It was quite simple and looked as if it was made in a grocers deli. The entre was spaghetti noodles, beef tips, tomatoes, mushrooms and a brown sauce. The beef tips were bland and the sauce was mildly good. The mushrooms tasted fresh as did the tomatoes. To be the chefs special, it was an extremely poor dish. Kudos to the server for describing what sounded like was going to be a delicious meal, even though the food was nothing like it was described. Pressing on through the meal, we politely declined desert 20 minutes after we had finished our meals. After the dinner was over I paid the $108.00 tab, which included the tip, and we exited the front door to find the valet leaning against the canopy pole in the entrance way texting on his phone. I must say though, it was an improvement in relation to our first encounter. I would like to leave off on a good note, in order to give credit where credit is due. The ambience was pleasant, I enjoyed the company of a beautiful girl (whom is planning to purchase salt and pepper shakers like the ones that were on our table), the server was nice and I was amused with the valet.

I love it! My boyfriend and I went here on New Year’s Eve. The service is impeccable, the food is delicious(try the escargot) and the wine list is extensive.

An Hour and Half and No Dinner. This used to be my favorite restaurant in Columbia, but tonight, we waited an hour and a half for dinner before calling it quits – and 20 minutes before we even saw our server again. No apology from the server or manager and they were NOT busy and there was no wait. The manager even spoke to our server after we asked to settle our tab with apps and drinks only – and nothing.

INCREDIBLE. The best dining experience in Columbia!
