Love the palmetto cheese burger. I get it plain and add bacon and in my opinion I think it’s the best burger in Columbia. As well, the onion rings and crinkle fries are great.
Waitress brought out 1) wrong beer, 2) wrong burger, and didn’t refill my water until I flagged her down when it was empty for 5 minutes. The burger was soggy and low quality, buns and toppings felt stale and like something you’d get at a McDonald’s. I won’t be coming here again
On of the best burger joints around!. I have lived in Columbia and eaten here many times. This hole-in-the-wall, local eatery is a must visit for burger enthusiasts. The burgers are juicy, delicious, and large. Sides include regular burger joint fare and are good, if not great. Many of the reviews below knock the service, which has always been good to me; however, this place is a hidden burger stand without much signage, flare, or advertising, and would do any of the traveling chef-lebrity TV shows proud. This is NOT a silver spoon, white linen restaraunt, but if you want huge, delicious burgers with no pretense, served with a cold beer, this place is for you.If it wasn’t a great place to eat, the locals-only atmosphere wouldn’t keep the parking lot packed (it is) without any major signs on the street!
Terrible Service. The service is so horrible at Rockaways it’s almost comical. It’s like they are trying to be bad at their job. Like many other reviewers have stated we did not even get acknowledged upon arrival. Sat down and waited for 15 minutes and no one even tried to come help us. Used to love it while in college but there are much better establishments that make you feel welcome in the area. Avoid this place!
Don’t waste your time and $.. If you have plenty of time to spare and like a dried out burger served on a cheap oversized white bun, with a huge side of apathy from your server—this is the place for you.
The food is pretty good, super heavy bar food, but decent. The service is TERRIBLE! Seriously, I have never… We went for a late lunch. They were open because two other parties were eating. Still no one said anything to us, not the waitress who sat down in a booth across from us texting or the waiter who walked by twice. I take that back. He said have a good day as we were leaving after ten minutes of not being acknowledged. I don’t get it. Maybe they’ve run out of money to hire decent help. There was a bucket two tables away from us catching water that was dripping from the ceiling. I won’t be back.
If you like bad service, sketchy people, mediocre food, and over priced, crappy beer, then this is your place! Enjoy!
