Not impressed, so far.. Have only tried their takeout once, having just opened a location in the Irmo area. So far I prefer Red Robin (everything), Hardees (great value with their multi-coupon per order policy), and 5 guys(french fries). I will certainly give them another chance as some of their menu choices do sound intriguing. I must weigh in on their french fries, however. I tried the smashfries and they tasted good with the seasoning of olive oil, garlic, and rosemary. However they were cut very thin like spaghetti, limp, and a very small serving. You had to eat them with a fork or spoon because you ended up picking 4 up at a time if you wanted them to hold up for a dip in a little ketchup. If I am going to go through the inconvenience of having to get out of my car to get a hamburger, the establishment better have something outstanding to offer. So far, I am not motivated to hurry back.***update***I changed my review to likes it. I gave them another chance, and now put it above 5 guys. I tried the carolina chili burger and it was better than the avacodo burger I had previously. I do like the variety and selection. I ordered the fried pickles and and the onion things. both were very greasy, but hey. /the sauce on the onion things was delish.
If Only. If only they sold a bigger size for those smash fries though?
I didn’t like it. the burgers cost way more than others that taste much better like McDonald, Hardee etc…… It was new I tired it. I won’t go back.
Not the Best of Burgers. Awhile ago I went to smashburger (this in February when smashburger and Moe’s were always packed) I wasn’t really impressed I didn’t really understand what the big deal was. So a couple of weeks ago a decided to give it another shot… I still wasn’t really seeing why people were coming so much for a while. So here’s what I think, smashburger is a little over rated, cookout and five guys are a lot better. So if your looking for the best burger I recommend five guys or cookout.
Doesn’t Like. Comparable to Hardees thick burger except you pay almost $12 for it with fries and drink. The layout and atmosphere is similar to five guys, but lacking the flavor of a true gourmet hamburger. If I’m paying $12 for a hamburger, fries , and drink I will be going to Pawley’s Front Porch.
Lots of chose’s. I have mixed feelings. They do have some nice and interesting food and a good following, decent prices and fast service. When I said following it gets packed during rush, but they handle it well, we made both lunch and dinner in under 6 min to our table and food to use in under 11min. Do you need a high end burger experience? Well then this is the place, they have 24 + items to place on a 4 burger types, 5-6 buns and 9 sides. The coke free style is nice, beers a winner but the shakes where way over priced. Myself very good meat and the basic’s im good. but these guys do this style right so I have to give it a very good thumbs up, and since several others I know love it I will be back
