This is my new favorite lunch spot in Columbia. I love the creativity of the food & the fact that the menu changes daily. I have never had a dish here that I did not absolutely love. The flavors are spectacular & the attention to detail is wonderful, down to the pickled okra garnish. Even the dishes and salt & pepper shakers are charming. Everything is fresh & delicious, and the staff is just wonderful. They are so friendly, you feel like family. This really reminds me of a cute little restaurant you would stumble upon on a side street in downtown Charleston, except the food would probably be double the price! (but worth every penny) Thank goodness this is Columbia’s hidden gem!27 Jan, 2015The Spotted Salad is marvelous. Shredded BBQ chicken on a huge salad with cornbread croutons & homemade ranch. Also featured in this pic is their homemade pimiento cheese, which is to-die-for, and their red oyster stew, which was incredibly fresh & tasty.27 Jan, 2015Cronut. The cronuts here are the star of the show. They feature a different, creative flavor each day. They are flaky & delicious. If you want a serious sugar rush, pair one with a mug of their hot chocolate with homemade marshmallow!27 Jan, 2015Deviled Eggs. The deviled eggs here are devine. They feature a different, funky topping each day, although the ones in this picture were plain, since I don’t eat ham. These are not to be missed!

Yum. The Spotted Salamander is a delicious addition to the Columbia lunch scene. The spinach quinoa salad is amazing and so healthy you won’t feel so bad eating one of their croinuts!!!
Like family. The crew at SS treat me like one of their own. Always great conversation and always willing to make an accommodation for dietary concerns. The tea glass is always full and the cafe is full of character and thoughtful accents.
