If you don’t order anything but an appetizer you must try the pimento cheese fries! They are a heaping pile of amazing cheese and tasty pimento. I crave these on a consistent basis. If you love burgers try their pimento cheese burger!!! I can’t get over how tasty this is! I don’t want any other burger. Five guys can kiss their butts! This burger is so juicy and cheesy and is the perfect pick for comfort food along side your favorite beer. Happy Ten years Whig!! And another 100 more!

The Whig Burger. It was awesome.25 Jan, 2015Nice place, great yummy burger. This is the most interesting place I’ve been to eat in Columbia. I have no idea how anyone ever finds this place. It’s very unique. Find and go down the random staircase across from the State Capital building and go into the large unlabeled door on the left. Once you walk in place your order at the bar and try to find a place to sit. Anyway, I’m on a crusade to find the best burger in town and this place was mentioned so I gave it a shot. I ordered the whig burger. I’m usually a bacon cheeseburger type but this was a good change of pace. I really liked it. Gravy, gouda, and bacon was an interesting and Satisfying combination. I was highly pleased and would definitely recommend this place to everyone, however it did not make my top 5 burger list. It’s still an awesome place that has an incredible burger. You will not be disappointed.
Hidden Gem. Went here with friends recently. Atmosphere was incredible for Columbia, felt at ease to enjoy the night. Two points settled my decision on The Whig: First, the food (Whig Burger) was delicious. Rivals, if not beats, any other burger in town. I helped a friend with her Smoked Gouda Mac n’ Cheese, incredible as well. Secondly, after ordering an beer off tap, the keg went dry and I was left with 3/4 of a glass. The bartender didn’t flinch, he looked up to apologize and told me to drink the beer as is and he would take it off my tab. That’s what I call service, bad things happen all you can do is react appropriately. I’ll be back many more times.
Nice atmosphere. Love the location, makes me feel like I’m not in SC for a minute. loved it first time on Monday pizza is $1 a slice nice size for that price. good music good drinks nice people I will definitely be going back.
