SCE is simply OK. Service is a bit slow and not very welcoming. Coffee tastes burned. I wouldn’t recommend it but unfortunately, it is probably the best around Edisto.

Good food. I’m guessing the people reviewing are from out of town, visiting the island. Well, you need to keep in mind that Edisto is slow paced, everywhere! We are out there every weekend, have many friends that live on the island, and have eaten just about everywhere that serves food. Yes, service is what most city folks consider slow but the place is jam packed when it is what I consider slow (your New York minute is a half hour for me). The staff are very friendly and always do a great job. The food is good, not the best but it is comparable to a diner on the side of the road. We don’t go there often because we love another so much but the food is always good. If you want to spend only an hour eating then pick somewhere else or go after normal breakfast/lunch times. And it is pricy, I’d say $$ is a better description.

Just dreadful. Took 2 hours to get our food, which wasn’t great. Check out lady was grumpy, for good reasons. Really the place is not managed well, they ran out of most beers on the their beer list. That should have been my cue to leave, but I stayed. Avoid this place. The kitchen just can’t keep up with number of tables.

Adequate. The service was alright. They weren’t unfriendly, but it was at the end of the day on a Saturday and I had a feeling that they staff was tired of putting up with spoiled housewives demands all day, and just wanted to go home. Once they saw my family was just happy to get some decent food, they were friendlier and more accommodating. The food was pretty darn good, although the portion size was much less than I was expecting for the price. Normally, when I drop $20 on a seafood meal, I get stuffed. I was still hungry after I was finished eating, unfortunately. If you’re going here, go because you enjoy the taste of a great dish, not because you want to eat until you are adequately stuffed.

Best breakfast in Edisto! The dinner was awesome too! Yes, we went for breakfast and dinner. We had Tammy as our server both times and she rocks! The little shops next to it are fun to look in while waiting. Loved it!

Hamburgers. The cost of one hamburger with no side was $8.50 so I order 3 for a total of $25.50 so I told them to just keep them.

Neutral. Honesty can’t say I like or dislike this place. I had shrimp and grits. Wife had fried shrimp. My shrimp and grits were good, but smallest portion of shrimp I’ve ever had with this entree (8-9?). Grits were good and had a couple of bits of bacon. Would have really liked a few more shrimp and many more bits of bacon. Peanut butter silk pie was above average.
