My husband and I ate here on Tuesday, March 14, 2017 ~1:30 p.m., at the recommendation of an acquaintance who raved about the wonderful food and service. Disappointingly, the service was lackluster at best, and unprofessional borderline rude to slightly hostile.I ordered the house salad. Although the eggs, bacon and almonds added a great taste to the house salad the dark green lettuce pieces were wilted (seemingly purposely hidden in the salad) and had black slimy spots on some of the pieces, much like bagged lettuce after it’s remained in the bag in the frig too long. In fact, the salad greens had the taste of those bagged salads.By the time the original server checked on my table (another server brought the food to the table) I had dug several pieces out and placed them on the edge of the plate for her to see. When I showed her the lettuce she asked if I wanted a new salad, but I declined the offer since I had already begun eating the salad.I thought that a small adjustment on the bill (perhaps $1.00 or so) would have been fair since I had eaten some of the salad. When the bill came I asked the server about an adjustment on the bill, but she said that she had already asked the manager, who said no.On the way out I described the problem to the hostess, and about that time a 30-40ish woman with dark hair walked up and identified herself as the manager.I described the problem with the salad to her, to which she barked that no else had ever complained about the salad.I told her that she didn’t come to the table to check , but that I had left the lettuce on the plate.
Loving the new location at Sparkleberry Square! The prime rib rocked, the croissants were melting in your mouth and both salads and dessers were delicious! Definitely coming back!
There is a J Peters in Chapin Currently and I LOVE it nothing could be changed about it the prime rib was great and I loved it the children’s menu is perfect amount for kids and everything about it is wonderful really recommend it!
I have eaten here multiple times and I have not had a bad thing yet. I love J Peters….The food is some of the best for the price. Proportions of food is more than enough to satisfy. The service I have received has been great. I will continue to eat there especially when I want a great steak cooked to perfection.
Loved it! Everything was excellent from the service to the food. Had the Prime Rib, loaded baked potato and house salad. All were excellent!
Nothing to brag about. Nothing special about it. Food not worth the price.Fatz, Ruby Tuesday, or Lizard Thicket is better. There been 2 other restaurants at that location and I bet when the lease is up they will also be gone.
J Peters is a fantastic establishment in the forest acres community and in my opinion as a tough food critic is full of not only great cuisine but lots of potential. The staff is polite and professional, if you come across this restaurant I would recommend to anyone there seafood or steak dishes, and to end the meal with perfection you cannot go wrong with one of there outstanding desserts. In fact this place is quite a good atmosphere for a date or family dinner.
