Update: 2nd visit a year later. Service was excellent tonight and great atmosphere. Food disappointed slightly though. Fried artichokes were skimpy and bland. Lobster-crab succotash sauce wasnt special. Huge meatballs with the spaghetti, decent flavor but noodles overcooked. I will still return but there is room for improvement.28 Dec, 2012Not really Italian…. …but good nonetheless. A little loud inside and has some communal tables (bad) but a nice setting overall. Caeser salad is long hearts of romaine instead of cut, which was a neat twist, and an anchovie dressing and one large baguette instead of individual croutons. The hanger steak was a little burnt on the outside but more rare than I ordered still. Different sweet vinagrette sauce, not sure if I liked it. The shrimp and grits were better than average and definitely worth getting again. Portions were adequate but nothing more. Price about right for the overall ambience and food quality. They have prie fixe cards in mailers occasionally and actually were posted at the entrance, which definitely saves money if you like dessert (we did…the portions were huge of cheesecake and tiramisu and pretty good both).

In town for the Master’s and after being rained out today we were in hopes of a nice meal to top off the day. What a HUGE disappointment. The food was less than marginal but the service was beyond poor. As a previous owner of an artisan bakery cafe’ I am mindful of how important it is to not only provide quality in the food but exceptional service to maintain a consistent and loyal clientele. From the looks of things these have clearly not been set as priorities. Just to be clear….the website is not an accurate demonstration of what you will find if you mistakenly choose this as your dining location.
