POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. We have frequently visited this eatery.but tonight was the worst ever was here with my Mon and our family to celebrate her birthday call ahead what we were told over phone was not what took place upon arriving waited a hour to be seated then after our orders was taken it was a hour and a half before our food was brought after requesting to talk with the manager. Will not recommend or eat here again
Fried Seafood Paradise. There is a reason the parking lot is ALWAYS full!!!Brought my Gma and family along with my brother’s family this past Friday night. Parking lot was full but only a 5 minute wait for party of 8. Everyone had fried items except daughter (she had kids burger). All food was very good and service was very good. I really liked my salt and peppered catfish filets as well as clam strips. The best thing ordered by my Gma was the small plate of fried oysters. None of us could believe how much she got….at least 15 golden brown oysters. They were huge! We all ended up taking food home and none of us touched our sweet or baked potatoes.
Never Again. Now, I don’t normally put folks on blast but tonight was not the night for antics. Just finished a 2 hour crab eatin’ marathon at Captain Steve’s in Fort Mill, SC. Now I’ve not been here in at least a year and change so I decided to make a night of it with friends. My group had to leave early to get to a meeting so I moved to another table to join my cousin and her group who just happened to be there as well. I informed my waitress I was moving and she gave me my check so I could pay when done. Now, I get to the table get situated and apparently the server, Gerald, was not on point because it took a while to get my next order of crab legs. When I sat down, I told G that I had my receipt in my pocket and explained that I’d moved tables. He tells me he’s got a copy of my receipt too. So I write off his flippant remark and keep eating and enjoying the commentary at the table. I finally get my fill and my hands are sticky from eating and can’t touch anything til I wash my hands. I leave my purse with my cuz and head to the restroom. Upon coming out of the restroom I see G running like somebody ran out of the door. He’s see me at the same time and does an about face. He proceeds to stand ahead watching me while I make my way back to my table. I am furious now because this fool thought I was running out on my check and was chasing me down. I’m sitting at a table with 8 other people and my purse is in my chair along with my car keys. How the F**** was I going to run out on check? Hide around the corner of the building until the end of the night, hitch hike, walk home? Seriously???? They have lost a loyal customer and gained an enemy. I will not be giving them anymore of my dollars. The manager tried to rationalize that crap with saying the wait staff is responsible for the tickets and I didn’t even let her finish that foolishness. Got my blood pressure up! About to write a letter to the owner’s not that I expect them to do any better. So you’re telling me I don’t have the right to get up and wash my hands? So pissed right now.
Food Good, But Don’t Do Carry Out. The people working in the Carry Out area of Captain Steve’s are borderline rude. This was the first time I ordered carry out and I will not make that mistake again. The food is good, but save yourself and go inside the restaurant to eat. I’ve always encountered polite, professional workers inside.
Customer service is pretty bad. I’m not from Fort Mill; I was passing through on a trip. I stopped in to carryout not knowing that it’s over after 2 pm (it was 2:04 pm). They told me I had to order easy items (fried) so I did. They were pretty rude about it (tall, slim guy w/ shoulder length blond hair) and a lady. I paid for my food but because of service like this, I won’t be coming back.
Excellent seafood. Worth the wait.
Great restaurant. Not pretentious, just great food @ a great price! Who goes to a seafood restaurant to eat pork chops? Get the salt n peppa catfish filets, hush puppies and a big ole glass of tea and you can NOT go wrong. It is noisy and family friendly – but you aren’t paying for a fine dining experience. This is a fish camp – all fish camps are noisy and casual. Enjoy!
