This was our first visit to Hobo’s. My wife and I stopped by this past Monday, 7/9/18, for a late lunch at about 1:30. It was pretty busy but should not have been overwhelming for the staff to handle. We were seated very quickly but it took 15 minutes for the waitress to come over and take are order. we finely received our meals 45 minutes later after spending a full hour in this restaurant. We ordered the Big Apple Burger and a Burger with two grilled cheese sandwiches around the meat. Both burgers were extremely dry and as hard as a hockey puck to boot. The Big Apple Burger was suppose to have bacon and grilled onions on it which were no where to be found!!! The bread on both burgers was dry, bloody and not toasted. The grilled cheese burger’s bread was in no way even browned or toasted with very little non melted cheese on it. Many years ago I worked at multiple restaurants and can easily tell that the people who made our order here were rushed and that the food manager did not do their job and check the finished product before it was served to the customer.
Excellent burgers – everyone in my party enjoyed their meal. I had the Big Apple, which had a really great flavor combination. For the price, we all received a good sized meal. While I don’t personally drink, others in my party enjoyed the varied beer selection.
I went here on a Saturday with my family. The atmosphere was good, crowded for a Saturday afternoon. We had 20 minute wait, service was good. We had all our questions answered being our first time here. I ordered the wanderer burger, it was cooked the way I ordered. My only issue is the bun thickness. Which absorbed much of the condiments. My chocolate shake was excellentI will be back to try the chicken and waffles.
These guys know burgers. Each one came out at the exact temperature requested, med-rare for us. The chips and fries where hot and well made sides. Fish sandwich was a little on the greasy side but not by much. Deck was great even on a hot summer evening and the reggae music added a nice atmosphere. We will be back BTW, excellent selection of draft beers including locals!!!
