Dash away from Local Dish. Was looking forward to trying this Fort Mill Diner The Local Dish. Arrived on a Friday evening 7:00ish-one hour wait ( thought that was a good sign) several patrons outside gave it a thumbs up. So was looking forward with great anticipation to a wonderful meal.When the waitress took our order and didn’t write anything down ( I have food allergies and have to make adjustments) I knew there would be problems…. and I was not wrong. I ordered pulled pork nachos ( pico on the side) of course it came with abundance of pico all over my dish had to send it back while my husband ate his dinner and I waited for my dish minus the pico. Pork nachos finally came cheese was not melted , found large piece of pork fat about 3 inches long, bone about the size of a nickel , no love it was rushed and it showed. Hubby said sandwich was ok and pasta salad had way too much vinegar and was the worse pasta salad he had ever eaten. Will never go back and will def not recommend this over-priced Local Dish to no one.
Not a family restaurant. The owner glared at us, 6 adults 2 children, when the toddler was crying & being calmed down. Chicken pot pie was soup, very little chicken or veggies. Mini waffle, quarter size for chicken & waffles. Meat loaf ok, pulled pork sandwich good but only a tbsp of cole slaw. Shrimp & grits good, kids liked grilled cheese. Waiter was good server not at all friendly, just took order and served food. Atmosphere fine, being your own stuff for kids while you wait. Agree with previous comment, not customer focused place
Best in the Charlotte area.. This is a wonderful restaurant. The everything on the menu is great with a different twist to keep the flavors fresh. Try the scallops and the burgers are also incredible. Fresh ingredients and warm, personal service. Adam is always accommodating and provides great suggestions. Everyone on the staff is personable and interested in making a great experience.

Not Raw Hamburgers. It was totally raw in the middle and unedible17 Oct, 2014Raw food…very disappointing. My husband and I moved to Fort Mill in 2008 and have enjoyed Local Dish up until tonight. We have recommended them to many people and thrown many compliments their way. Tonight we ordered supper there and when my husband bit into his hamburger it was COMPLETELY raw in the center. We had called ONE other time about some chicken which was not done. When he called tonight to tell them about the hamburger the owner and manager told him that they do not want our business as we complain too much. This was very unprofessional and totally uncalled for and disappointing to us. We can provide a picture of the raw hamburger if need be. Ray and Glenna LeamerFort Mill, SC
I had high hopes for this place and on paper it sure all sounds great. However, It has been a hit or miss when it comes to the food, some dishes were well executed, others not so much – especially not for the price charged! Sadly this is not a place you go to for friendly service. This was our third and probably last visit as the waitress made it a very unpleasant experience.
Food is good. They need more servers. Although place is small it’s busy and to much for just one server. A little pricey for lunch!
