We have always purchased our meats here because the steaks are awesome and all meats are so fresh. This weekend I bought steaks, hamburger meat and boned pork chops. When I got home I was disgusted! As soon as I opened the package on the pork chops I could smell the meat – a horrible smell – totally unfit to eat. The steaks had brown spots all over them and the hamburger meat was all brown on the inside – covered with fresh meat on the outside. I did not return because we live an hour away and never minded the drive once a month to buy our meats there. This will be the last time we purchase anything – I am sickened that good businesses go bad because they think they can do this once their regular customer base is built up. I have seen this in restaurants also – great quality meats and then they start using less fresh food.
Everything is great except their customer service. I stop in for ice cream every month or so and each time makes me more upset rhan the last. No lie, everytime I walk in several high school age girls are hanging out up front/maybe working too?? They watch me walk back to the Ice cream counter where maybe 1 of them should be. I stand there 5mins and have to walk back up front to ask if 1 can take a minute to serve me some ice cream. Of course they all seem frustrated I ask. Maybe its hardwork or maybe they just dont care?

Country Diner, Butcher shop & more. This place has some of the best fresh food you can find. The butcher department is fantastic too. We went to the Peach Stand last week for the first time & the people are very helpful and friendly. Seeing a local butcher here was great too and we couldn’t leave without fresh peaches. We will definitely return for some fresh fish, beef or pork.
