Arriving with a caravan of miscreants after a long day of chivying the small ball, 217 Bistro had a tall order to fill with such a boisterous thirst-parched crowd and, with a large table secured and alcohol quickly proffered, the elegance yet simplicity of this menu began to make itself known. These are dishes that quieted the most fervent among us and soon there was a hush amongst the band of Merry Men. Braised Short Ribs with buttermilk mashed potatoes and blue cheese,Seared George’s Bank Scallops w/Spring Pea Risotto in a lobster-carrot sauce with honey-glazed baby carrots, and the concoction this inspector was so enamored with he ordered it two nights in a row (yes, 217 Bistro is that good!) the 217 Eggplant Treasure Chest…… Shrimp, Scallops, and Grouper in a basil parmesan sauce dished over a fried eggplant tower that was a sight to behold…..so overtaken was I that it was with my insistence that our band of bandoliers participate again a second night!A very healthy cocktails list, a craft beer grouping with selections from Michigan, Colorado, Oregon, Seattle, and the southeast, as well as a a robust wine list makes 217 Bistro a wicket rattling endeavor and one that one must experience while in this domain. Now go quickly! The Game’s afoot! thesherlockholmesreviews.com
On a Thursday evening in Pawleys Island, South Carolina. Eight of us were seated by the kitchen door and the entry to the restrooms. It was very busy and very noisy. Three of us were facing the wall. Our orders were finally taken half an hour after we were seated. We had a reservation. We were told there was no other table inside that we could have. Some of our meals were excellent some were disappointing. The service was so-so. Would I return? I keep asking myself that. We, at least, enjoyed the friends we were with!
Bistro 217 truly Never disappoints!!! Can’t come into town & not go to Bistro 217 at least once!Start with their mojito! All their appetizers & salads are amazing & the entrees are to die for.
Beautiful, BRILLIANT, delicious food. I’ve dined here twice, and twice have been blown away! Magnificent ambiance, marvelous service and the most creative artists in the kitchen. I can’t wait to return!
Visited today for lunch choosing to eat indoors instead of the patio since it was hot. We had great service and even better food. All 4 of us ordered different dishes including the tomato, crab & jalapeo soup which was amazing and loved everything that we ordered. Full but intrigued we ordered the mixed berry cobbler with homemade vanilla ice cream. Exceeded our expectations and will return on our next visit to SC!!! A must visit restaurant that will not disappoint.
