  • Very disappointing. Hush puppies tasteless. Tiny baked potato ( for $1 up charge ). Large shrimp were chewy. Smaller ones were much better. Cole slaw …

  • Yummy food. Yum fresh fish and it is never greasy, gotta try this!…

Food was overshadowed by terrible service. Management needs some customer service training. We will not be back.

The hush puppies were good but that’s about it. My grouper was horrible. I expected a thick piece for the price but it was an over cooked thin strip. My daughter and sons hamburgers were burned. My husband, brother-in-law, and nephew ordered steaks and none were cooked right. In fact 2 were ordered med rare and one well done. The one that was well done was so much thinner than the other 2. The dressing was store bought (for the price I would expect homemade) and the desert was frozen (we asked) not homemade either. No one wanted to say anything (except my disappointed daughter and son) because one person was paying for all and we didn’t want to let him know how bad the food was. If we had known everyone’s was bad we certainly would have said something. I am going to call today and let them know. We’ll see what happens. I have never written a bad review before and actually hate to be negative but I have never been somewhere like this place before. The people who I think might have been the owners were VERY nice and the atmosphere was neat but the price $$$ certainly does not match the food. My son said it best. It was like fast food. Hopefully changes will be made. I think it’s been there a long time and hope for them it will continue to be.

Poor service. Got there about 6:00 after hearing so many great reviews the past 3 to 4 years. We walked in and nobody greeting us. Asked if we seat ourselves the bartender pointed at a table,he also gave us some menus. After sitting there for at least 6 minutes and my wife getting angry with me for complaining so much, we finally got up and left. The restaurant only had maybe 4 other families there and the wait staff had a bartender and 2 servers just standing around and nobody acknowledge us being there. Went across the street to captain Johns seafood grill and everything was outstanding!!

Worth It. So, I read mixed reviews concerning Litchfield Beach Fish House. My family’s experience was great, though. I sampled the fish stew, and ordered a cup of she-crab soup as an appetizer. The she-crab soup was as good as you’ll find in Charleston. For my entree I ordered a grouper sandwich, which was fresh, as well as a tremendous portion. I dipped my wonderful french fries in their homemade tartar sauce, too. The rest of my party enjoyed fried flounder, an amazing grilled cheese sandwich (on texas toast), and a shrimp roll. This was a true coastal restaurant–laid back and friendly. The clientele was somewhat bourgeoise; but that did not dampen the taste of the food, however.

Love this place! It’s super unique but still the has that southern coastal restaurant feel. Very kid friendly with a playground outside and big shark on the roof! A Litchfield fav!

So sad. Our family has been coming here for 20 years, and has great memories of this restaurant. However, we’ve sen a significant decline over the past few years, with our last three experiences being unacceptable. Most recently the service was terrible (the restaurant was not busy at all, which makes the poor service even more puzzling). The waitress brought half our order, and gave the remaining order to the table next to us, which created two partially served tables. Both tables waited another ten minutes for the remaining orders to arrive, and when ours finally came I was told that the kitchen was out of mine. The food which did arrive was dry, under seasoned, and bland. The gumbo tasted like it was out of a can, and the vegetable of the day was a frozen assortment of carrots and broccoli. When the waitress brought the check, my unserved entree was included, and when asked to remove it, she offered no apology. We left confused and dissatisfied, but mostly sad that restaurant has declined so much. We will not return.

Good fish tacos. We had to wait a little while, but it’s not that hard when u have drinks and family to keep you company! The conch fritters were on special and were amazing!!
