Best Tacos. Stopped last night on way back to NC after picking my son up in Charleston from Citadel. I am retired Navy & have traveled the world & enjoy food from all over. I meant to tell the waiter & staff before I left last night that the Bangin Shrimp Tacos were the best I have ever had anywhere! Definitely will be stopping there many times from now going back & forth to Charleston & the Citadel. Look forward to trying other items on the menu as well. Kudos to the chef.
Not only does the atmosphere feel comfortable and inviting but it more importantly feels clean. I travel a lot and love to find gems like this seaside eatery full of locals in the most quaint places. Our waitress was incredibly sweet but not overly so. The crab cake was bursting with crab and not stuffing and the fried okra was crispy and juicy at the same time. I will be returning as soon as possible.
Excellent establishment. We heard about this restaurant from one of the many coupon books in Myrtle Beach and we are so happy with our choice to dine here. We came for lunch on a Thursday and were pleased to find out that kids eat free this day. We started off with the grouper bites and they were out of this world!!! The kids portions were huge and they loved the outside enclosed playground! The soft shell crab sandwich and oriental tuna cold noodle salad were out of this world. We also had the tomato and blue crab and tomatoes salad and shrimp salad sandwich which were both excellent dishes as well. Very fresh seafood and large portions. The service was excellent and the restaurant and restrooms were spotless! This restaurant will definitely be a place we will return to each year!
Yummy, delicious. Visited this past Friday night and had a great time. Food was delicious; had the Low Country Boil Pot for one and it was better than what I make for myself. The restaurant was very clean, nice inside and also had a patio area and playground for the kids. Will make this part of our annual trip to the area.
Service Lacking. Since my last review I have been to Blue Crab twice more. We had coupons. I have to say that the food seems to have gone downhill and the service was terrible. A table with 4 adults and one child for dinner on a weekday night – we were stuck there for 2 hours! It took us almost 20 minutes just to get our drinks. We had friends visiting from out of town or I would have been tempted to leave. There are so many friendly, delicious restaurants in the area. Therefore, this one is going out of our rotation.11 Sep, 2011Steampot!!. I went to the Blue Crab with my 6 year old son for lunch. The service was wonderful. They let my son pick a table where he could see a tv and they put it on Nickelodeon for him (obviously this was not during the super busy tourist season) I was so excited to see a steampot on the menu that I splurged and got it. I am proud to say I ate almost the whole thing. The steampot was excellant. My only tiny complaint was that there was a lot of grit/bits of shell from the oysters that got all over the potatoes and sausage. My son got the fried shrimp and loved it. He cleaned his plate. The playground was an added bonus for him. Overall the food was yummy and the service was great.
Over priced tourist trap with terrible service.
