Tasty & affordable. We were staying @ the Westin and looking for a good, hearty breakfast as a reasonable price. We were NOT disappointed by Soby’s. Short walk, food was really good! great home fries & the omelette of the day was quite tasty!Made us want to go back and check out lunch! Great little find for out of towners!
Brunch. If you visit Greenville on a Saturday, I would highly recommend their brunch if you are trying to stick to a budget. I think I love them because they are soooo affordable and quick. The brunch options are nothing too fancy but they do cook from scratch it seems. On the top of my list are the pancakes and grits. The omelets are also decent. I wish they offered french toast or waffles : ( I also wish they sold oatmeal or biscuits Saturdays that you can get on other days during the week. Unfortunately, they have some of the WORST baked goods. Which is said because they always look so, so pretty. I hear they have a new pastry chef so I many need to tried their stuff again. I have been spoiled by 2 Chefs I guess. Lunch: I have eaten their during the week with mixed results. The she crab soup is very good but very rich. Some times they like to do weird combination of things as a special. I typically gravitate towards the chef special for the day at most places. I have learned with S.O.T.S to stick to the true and tested menu items. The specials often fall flat. The layout: I dont know who designed this layout of this place but it seriously sucks when they are busy. I wish they better utilized the space. For example, they could take out some of their display space and add more seating. I feel they have a lot of wasted space.
All New. They have recently changed up the menu and gotten a great new pastry chef. Everything is so much better now. Last time I went, I went with a group of people and everything was correct and timely. I will definitely be going back again soon.
Takes forever to order then the order is wrong.
Imagine Panera Bread (good, but a chain) mating with Stax’s (local, but nasty) and you’ve got this place, their illegitimate offspring, in which the worst of both worlds prevail. Not worth my third trip, or your first.
