The wings are great! The raspberry sauce is so good. The service was fast and friendly .I would absolutely return for more !
Hans & Franz offers a reasonable mix of German and American foods, with an adequate selection of beers. Is the food truly authentic German? Perhaps not, but there’s no need to get hung up on that. We tried the sauerkraut balls for an appetizer. They were tasty, though there were only three. The potato salad that accompanied the balls was good. If you have a party of several people, as we did, you’ll need two orders. For the main course, our party tried a number of items. The pork shank was good, if a tad dry. Same for the rouladen (beef roll up). Good, but a bit dry. Service was adequate but somewhat inattentive. No water, no offer to get more drinks until the meal was over. No need by that time. Would we go back? Yes. H&F is decent, though not amazing. Don’t expect too much. With a few tweaks to the food and service, however, our feeling is that this place could be better.
Achtung foodies!!!. Great , friendly staff, warm atmosphere and ice cold brewskies!!! The soup was particularly good. Great for groups of 20 or first dates. The kraut balls were off the chain!! Dang good vittles is what to expect here!!

Lunch at Hans & Franz. I decided to treat my mother to lunch yesterday. So, we decided to try Hans & Frans since she’d never been. (Having been married to a German-American for 35 years, I thought she’d be able to give an honest assessment of the cusine)…She and I loved it! We had great service, were surrounded by a lovely setting, and much to mom’s surprise she was able to order a ruben in ciabatta bread rather than the traditional rye (she’s severely allergic to rye, but LOVES a ruben). After our lunch, we then adjourned to the outside seating and enjoyed our wine. It was the perfect Mother-daughter lunch outing. We highly recommend Hans and Franz. Lovely place!
Hans & Franz Biergarten has, hands down, been my favorite restaurant in Greenville, SC. Addy and Jurgen have come up with the best entrees to die for. Did I get ahead of myself…. Try the sauerkrout balls for an app, they are amazing! Follow it up with the Beef Roulade!!! And finish with desert! If you have time to swing by for lunch, be sure to try the reuben or the reuben slider; they are only open for lunch Thurs-Sat.In addition to the above, Hans & Franz is the perfect place to grab a beer with friends, with a variety of imported beer and the setting of the biergarten (sometimes live music) it is truly the best place to go, for food or drink, on Greenville’s East Side!
