I had the opportunity to dine at Sabroso’s this past weekend, this was a first visit. I originally ordered the grilled chicken quesadillas, but saw the pollo fundido and decided to change my order and get that instead of the quesadillas. It came with two sides and my sides were Mexican rice and refried beans. The chicken was tender, there was A LOT of onions on it that would have been good if they had been grilled until tender. I’ve had pollo fundido at Monterey’s and it was chopped chicken with spices cooked inside a tortilla with a lot of cheese. That’s what I thought I was getting, my mistake. I will try Sabroso’s again, but on my next visit I’ll get the grilled chicken quesadillas.

I normally don’t post negative reviews but I feel that I must warn fellow business travelers:1. This mex-American food that is industrial prepared and heated in the restaurant. 2. Stuff was not rude not were they pleasant. Attitude is to get you in and out, that’s it. I have been to many Mexican restaurants all over the US and this is, by far, the worst. I wasn’t expecting authentic Mexican fare but at least something pleasant to the pallet. I was disappointed.

Service can be a little spotty but the food rarely disappoints. Sabroso has the BEST salsa in Greenville. Love the fresh cilantro in there. Handmade tamales are killer.

Delicious! Best tableside guacamole. Delicious brewed tea.

Good stuff!. Rice and (seasoned black) beans like nowhere else. Black beans are really not typical traditional Mexican fare, but DO NOT skip this simple combo! Its magical.Sabroso has good chips and salsa and the Guac is seasoned just right. Portion size is good and service is attentive and quick. I usually go with co-workers for lunch and we all plow thru the salsa before the meal. We all want a salsa bowl to ourselves, it just saves time with re-fills. Usually, I have to ask for individual bowls, but not at Sabroso. Great service! Drinks are never empty. You might want to, but don’t keep this place a secret!

Best Mexican restaurant in Greenville, in my opinion. Their tamales are top-notch, and the nachos are delicious!

Used to be Special. But Sabroso has lost its luster…Guacamole table side is a great idea, but on a service tray…just distasteful. Make it a cart as it should be with plenty of ingredients to truly make it special and custom to the guest tastes.
