Wonderful. What a fabulous restaurant – try the New Zealand Green Lipped Mussels – or the Caribbean spice rubbed grilled pork chop. Service is a little slow so plan to eat one of the marvelous first courses and enjoy the beverages. One of the best menus I have seen in the SE. A surprise for a small restaurant in SC,
Extremely slow service. Over an hour and our pasta dishes weren’t served. And this was after our waitress said our food was coming out shortly twenty minutes earlier. Calamari appetizer was under done with no flavor and minimal breading. Restaurant was a quarter full maybe and no reason to have service that slow even when food is ‘Cooked to order’ per our waitress. Also the air was not working and it was extemely warm in the restaurant with only some celiing fans to ‘cool it down’.
European/International dining experience in Greenwood. My husband and I travelled from Washington, D.C. to Greenwood, SC for the first time over President’s Day weekend to visit our son who recently relocated to Greenwood. Our son highly recommended dinner at Polo’s because he too had a recent wonderful dinner and experience. We are retired military and have spent the majority of our careers in Europe. We lived in Italy for seven years, Germany for 4 years, Puerto Rico a year and Hawaii for three years. Our son described the food as over the top with the atmosphere similar to our favorite European restaurants in Italy; an Argentina Steakhouse ‘Tangaria’ in Vicenza, Italy and ‘Aeolia’ in Costozza, Italy. I did not know what to expect and entered the restaurant a little skeptical; however, I found the food (unique/original), service and atmosphere at Polo’s Restaurant absolutely amazing. I had the chef’s special, a Hawaiian/Indian like chicken made with pineapple, curry/almond cream sauce, I found heavenly. The rice and vegetable side were also awesome. Our daughter ordered mussels followed by pasta alla carbonara (she loved, loved) and my husband had chef’s special prime rib and our son had lamb chops. Everything exceeded our expectations and was above delicious. The service was great and at the end Chef Polo visited our table. Greenwood should be proud to have such a restaurant. Now that we have a son residing in Greenwood, we plan to schedule our dinner at Polo’s during all future visits. Sincerely,Families Holcombe, Watkin and Williams
Food is ….OK. I’ve tried this place three times. Its a nice additional option for Greenwood but the food is ordinary and not anything special. Nice atmosphere and service standards are good. Portion size is adequate for the price. I would say that the food is what keeps me from going back, on a regular basis.
One of the best in Greenwood!!!!!
Wonderful. Finally, we have a up scale resturant that has a flair for excitement and wonderful food priced right. Had diner the other night and thought I was in S.F. The service was wonderful and the food to die for.
Fusion International. Probably the best steak in South Carolina! Favorite dishes here are, Bistro salad, Escargot Scampi, Crispy Duck Spring Rolls,Rack of Lamb, Caribian Spiced Pork Chops, Pene Pasta with Steak in Pepper Cream Sauce.
