1.0 star rating 1/8/2016I have never really been a fan of this Monterrey’s, but it’s 5 minutes from my house and where my 6 year old wanted to go for his birthday. The service is a 1 at best on most occasions and tonight was no different. However, my issue was the RAW chicken in my son’s quesadilla. When I got the mgr to the table, she took the raw chicken in her fingers and began to smash it, pull on it, etc. she then went to the kitchen with it and came back to tell me it was a tomato! I have been in the restaurant business for 25 yrs…. I KNOW the look and texture of raw chicken vs a tomato! She continued to argue with me that it was a tomato. I finally had to stop the conversation before completely losing it. Praying my son doesn’t wake up in the middle of the night sick and cannot enjoy his birthday party!! DISGUSTED!

What a let down!! Service was horrible- after we waited 10 minutes for our server to bring us our drinks, we got our food 50 minutes later. Asked for a manager and she argued with us that we were wrong after we had already been there for over an hour and 15 min. Will not go back if every other restaurant closes in Greer!!!

They have only been open a few weeks, and the Monterrey restaurants are usually really good. This place…blah. The place is beautiful inside, they did a great job on it, and the chips were tasty. However..that’s about it. The Queso tasted like water, and out of our group of 5, none of us were impressed. Rice was bland, beans were O.K. salsa was typical. I had the Pollo Fundido and it was passable. The only part note-worthy was the chicken in my tortillas. That was seasoned well and juicy, but the Guacamole was tasteless, and I thought there might have been Queso on my food, but I couldn’t even tell! That’s how bad the Queso was.. We all ordered from the lunch menu, and all had different things, so it was a very disappointing that none of us were satisfied with our food and the service wasn’t even all that great. We will not be going back
