Have found my new favorite place to eat in Hilton Head. Motivated service and excellent cuisine! The grouper was absolutely delicious and my daughter loved her shrimp and grits. Ivan in the bar took great care of us!
This place is very hidden and tucked away. Very casual outdoor atmosphere but well shaded and comfortable. I never went inside the restaurant. Waitress was attentive. We went for lunch around 12:30. No wait. My husband raved about his Seafood Purloo and rated it 4.5 ($23.95). It was made with a quality piece of fish and excellent sausage. I ordered a fried green tomato BLT ($9.95) which was satisfying but since this was the first time I have had fried green tomatoes, I don’t have any comparison. It came with a side of mac and cheese which was very ordinary. We shared banana pudding ($5.95) which was very good. We will be back to try the shrimp and grits!Update 2018: The meatloaf sandwich was not my cup of tea but the shrimp and grits with andouille was great!
Food was good. Wait was 1.5 hours, bar was out of glasses so we couldnt get a drink. Good food, but not great, not worth the wait. Waitress good and attentive.
The food was amazing, had the shrimp and mushroom cobbler and it was delicious. Wife had the crab cake sandwich with grits on the side. Said that the grits were the best that she has ever had. Crab cake was great as all of the other reviews say. Planning on going back.
Excellent place. Shrimps and grits are from heaven. Service is very attentive, price is right too. Will certainly come again when we are back in Hilton Head.
I first arrived with my family and they said they were busy and the wait would be 30 minutes. We figured this is fine since it’s a Thursday night at 7:45pm. After we waited and were seated, there were several tables empty and no big parties that came or go. The four of us ordered four different items from the menu and needless to say they screwed up all of our food. One entree came out w/o bacon or onions and the other one w/ the cheese on the plate and not on the sandwhich also messing the dressing. The Mac and cheese is worst then Kraft box cheese. I see why this restaurant rated low! I personally say stay away from this place!
Pleasant, relaxing atmosphere. Inside and outside seating. Started off with blue crab dip. It came with pita bread and chips and was good. We had the special of the day which was blackened amberjack and shrimp served with a sweet and a little spicy sause (very good). Also tried the shrimp and grits (also very good) I tried it and and was very suprised since up till then I thought I did not like grits. Also tried the moon shine and the key lime pie. Overall was very pleased and would definitely go again. It’s not visible from the road and expect a wait.
