Outstanding food, locally supplied, great service! Will definitely eat here again when I’m back in Hilton Head. Wish there were more local restaurants with creative menus and a good atmosphere like this was!
2nd time here while on the island. Always something different! Wonderful, Rich shrimp and grits and butchers steak was season perfectly. Fresh inspiring salads and apps are a nice start.
Wow! This was our best meal on HHI–and we’ve been going down for vacation for years. The atmosphere, craft cocktails, and unique and creative menu were huge draws. We had the roasted bone marrow in the bar and a few drinks. The bone marrow was the very best I have ever had and came with a red wine au jus and con fit garlic for the toasts. We would have stayed longer for a whole meal but our 12mo old had a different plan. There were so many things we wanted to try. The best part was when the chef came to our table and talked with us about the food, brought out some more bread since our son really loved the marrow too, and he even helped us out with some at-home cooking tips! What a place! We will be back next year–and earlier in the week so we can go a few times. Everyone around us was raving as well–this is a must go!
The strip plaza in which the Lucky Rooster exists belies the fine dining available within the friendly confines. The apps were priced where one would expect for a white tablecloth eating experience, likewise the specials and entrees followed suite. The $16 cheeseburger was cooked to perfection and the shrimp and grits, while pricey at $26, was a perfect dish. We requested the bread service, but it never came and the server seemed generally disinterested. I would definitely go back for the food and beverages. Oddly, there was some issue with the lighting, which could have induced a problem for those with such sensitivities.
Great Staff, Environment, Food and Beverages. Whats not to like. Classic cocktails, interesting and well prepared food, attentive Nd enthusiastic staff. Nothing to quibble with. Awesome.
My wife and I had a great time with both our meal and drinks at the Lucky Rooster! Our visit started off with unbelievable classic drinks from the past then moved seamlessly into some of the best food you could imagine! We only had the appetizers which included the Octopus, Deviled Eggs, Scollop’s Benidicts with Quail Eggs and last but not least their Jalapeno Cornbread served with a Molasses butter. All were off the charts!!Couple that with a few classic Moscow Mules in copper mugs and just WOW!Can’t wait to come back!
Great food – highly recommend their tomato-mozzarella salad (homemade mozzarella!). Service was great. Definitely not a typical beach restaurant. Very modern. Something you’d find in a city.
