This place had average pizza with rude service. We were deciding where we could go to watch Michigan basketball and eat good pizza and we choose mangiamo’s. this was a mistake. Two people in our group wore Michigan shirts thinking the Ohio state thing wouldn’t be that big of a deal in South Carolina (it was). They got yelled at when truly we just wanted to watch the game and were not trying to make a statement. They were rude to us and honestly the pizza was not that great and I would not recommend the garlic knuckles.
Took over two hours to deliver pizza and the pizza was cold and burnt. We sent it back for new and was brought back another over cooked pizza. The least they could have done was offered a discount. Never again.
Get the Greek pizza! You will not be disappointed.
Nasty and overpriced. My friends and I recently decided to order Mangiamo pizza, as we we usually do about once or twice a month. This time we couldn’t believe the bill. Not only do they charge you an extra $2.00 for a delivery fee, extra cheese was also an additional $2.00 for each pizza and additional charge for toppings. There was NO extra cheese on the pizzas and quite frankly the food there is not good. I am convinced the extreme price hike is to offset their new building cost which they pass on to us as customers. I hate to say this, but now that New York City has a north end location AND will deliver to us for less than $2.00, Mangiamo will be going out of business. Also, I hate Ohio State football and that is a turnoff for us to ever enter the restaurant to dine in. Either way, we are done with Mangiamo.

Looking for good pizza. I went to Mangiamo for the first time this week. My impressions: newly built restaurant is clean, fresh and to some degree overly sterile. When I go for pizza the first thing I do is look for the aroma of fresh baked pies. After sitting in the booth for 15 min, it dawned on me that there was no aroma of baking pies what-so-ever. This was a major missing piece for me. You had better like Ohio State as the owners are clearly OSU alums. While Im not one of those, it was ok with me. It is nicely done and c’mon its only pizza. But if you are a die hard Michigan fan, this may not be for you. The pizza is hand thrown dough and was decent. I would say a notch better than most on the island. The taste of the dough was good but routine. The sauce was tangy and very tasty. I like my pies thin and crispy so this one tasted better warmed up in my own oven the next day. Beer was cold with good selection and the prices were fair. Service was good for a pizza restaurant. Overall, I would go back but Im still looking for really good pizza on hilton head.
Bigger is Better. They recently moved to a new spot across the street. Luckily they brought the very interesting Ohio State Decour with them and purchased 19 new TVs to accompany the Michigan logo on the toilet. Actually kind of funny. Owner was a cheerful guy (I guess he is optimistic about the Buckeyes chances this year). Marinara is apparently home made and tests 100% like it is. Marinara sauce + bread is a tasty meal all in itself. We had chicken parm [breast meat of course], 2 calzones, and a perperonni panini. All were given thumbs up by the family. The only complaint was the size. Wish they had a $10 version of the calzones since the $7 was too small for hearty UNC fans like us!Go early, its get crowded. And if you are from Michigan then this is not the place for you.
