We ended up at Pazzo by mistake on our family vacation last month. We had called in a reservation to a different Italian place on the island, and somehow wrote down the wrong address and ended up here. Boy, were we glad about our mistake. Service was great, food even better. Maybe the best food I’ve had in the years we’ve been going to Hilton Head. The bruschetta we had for an appetizer was fresh and light. I can’t recall the name of the entree I ordered, but I was eggplant, gnocchi, veal, and chicken in a really hearty red sauce. Each individual component of the dish was cooked perfectly. I was so impressed with the food that I boxed up over half of my entree just to have enough room to try the Tiarmisu, which was fantastic. I also liked that we went to an Italian restaurant but were spared the tacky theme-music and decor that many foreign cuisine restaurants use. No gimmicks here- just great food and friendly staff. I’m already looking to coming back next summer.
We enjoyed our meal and the price was reasonable but I would put it in my top ten favorote restaurant.
My veal piccata was good. The bread was raw the owner didn’t show up for his staff. Bad bad bad bad. At least John was great and comped our cocktails for the delay
