This is the best food on the island. One of the first places we discovered when we moved here! We still go about once a week. The ultimate chimichanga is the best. Also, Bill is the bartender and is exceptional! Sit at the bar if possible.
go here now and order the painted desert soup now. thank me later. forget how pretty the dish is. it was one of the most delicious things I have ever tasted. I would go back to Hilton head just for that. we almost ordered more soup for dessert even though it was hot out because it was that good. we also had chimichangas and a quesadilla at our table. neither were like anything you are used to at your local Mexican restaurant. the chimichanga was packed full of chicken and beef among other things. it was delicious. the quesadilla for the kids was also very good and had much more in it and on it than a typical one. our service was great and the restaurant has a nice vibe. it should be a must visit when you are in Hilton head.

Best Place on the Island. This is our number 1 restaurant on Hilton Head Island. We have been coming here for 20 years and it has been consistently delicious. My parents live here in the Winter and when I am down visiting we try to go at least twice. The salsa and chips are very flavorful and the cilantro that is added makes it that much more superb, if you want added flavor to your chips, order the queso! We have had several dishes here in the past 20 years and I can still find something new and delicious each time. The portion sizes are large and everything has so much flavor so you are getting what you want for your money. Also, the fact that the flavors come from New Mexico make it that much better, it is not meant to be Mexican as many reviewers have posted here. It is Santa Fe for the reason that the flavors are from New Mexico, not Mexico. The presentation is also a work of art. The staff is awesome and very nice, they are dedicated and a lot of them have been there for as long as we have been coming here which shows how much they support what they are doing. I would say if you come to Hilton Head do not miss this place!
Good food; poor attitude. We are locals and have eaten here several times. We never made a reservation, especially in the offseason when there are fewer diners. In every case the person seating us acted like it was an imposition to seat us even though there were many empty tables including at least 6 in our area that stayed empty the whole time we were dining. Not really anxious to be treated with so much indifference; there are plenty of other places to eat.
Don’t change the menu. Don’t ask for something that is not on the menu, they can’t . Slow service if you are in a rush, don’t ! Lastly, the beef is good outside the taco .
The rooftop deck, great food, an amazing vocalist singing great songs – but in Spanish (Under the Boardwalk) and cold beers or tasty margarita …. Definitely a great night!
