Excellent In Practically All Areas. Con: They could use some upgrading of chairs, tables, decor, and a slight increase in the size of the restaurant. (But, the quality of their food & service far out-weigh the other non-essential items mentioned above.)Pro:The management & staff are friendly and very accomodating. All my life we would drive to Calabash from Myrtle Beach to eat at one of their infamous restaurants, putting-up with the long line of cars from the area also making the trip, and then the long lines standing outside to get in. But, in recent years we have grown weary of the mad dash to Calabash. Mainly, because the quality of the food in the restaurants no longer comes even close to matching their propaganda. So, five years ago we started looking for an alternative. We were about to give-up on trying to find a restaurant in which the staff were happy to be working there, one’s in which they would do their best to accommodate special requests if possible, and who’s food was excellent, and pricing reasonable. Finally, we started asking some of the local people where they ate, and Steven’s Restaurant came-up time after time. We sent a family member to try it out, first, and he came back singing the food’s presence. The next day we called them 1 hr. before they opened and told them that we planned on coming to eat and that our family would be 23 strong. They said great, they had a separate room that we could reserve and that they would be ready for us. It was a great experience. The shrimp shrimp, oysters, scallops, and filet of flounder, all had a great taste versus what we had been experiencing the last few years in Calabash. The fried food was NOT all crust with no taste, nor were the broiled & boiled items mushy & gross. As is always important, our waitress was very friendly and continually checked to see if there was anything she could do for us.Now, every year when we have our 23 member group all together we always eat at Steven’s – fully confident that the food will be great and the service wonderful.

Family Tradition. My family has been coming here for over 30 years! The food is always good and fresh. . the fried oysters are the best on the beach. I can’t say enough about this family owned business.

My family and I were completely led astray by the better than average reviews on here. Not sure what those folks were smoking. Our experience was a colossal disappointment. We ordered fried seafood combos and the food was very greasy. Fish, shrimp and oysters were the same frozen commercial generic foodservice grade stuff you can get at any inland hole-in-the-wall fish camp. Portions were not generous which worked out well because we pretty much lost our appetite after the first couple of bites. The food is way overpriced for the poor quality and smallish portions. The folks won’t let you put your wait person’s tip on your card. You must tip with cash. Don’t make the same mistake we did. Go somewhere else.

Best seafood on the beach! This restaurant has been in business for over 60 years, and still going strong. Very good prices..Friendly staff and wonderful cuisine .. My family and I have been coming here since I was a child so I definitely recommend this place as a must try when visiting the grand strand!

Great Fried Seafood Platter. No frills, kinda looks like an old funeral home. Nice staff, very friendly to us. My fiance and I both had the fried seafood platter (she had the small, I had the large). Oyster, shrimp, scallops, stuffed crab, fish, fries, and cole slaw. The food was great. Only issue is with tipping. You can not tip with a credit card. You must tip in cash. I almost never carry cash, but I’d read about the policy somewhere and scraped up enough for a tip. Appears to be a locals place. Give it a try!
