Worth the drive from Simpsonville!Tucked away in the artsy little town of Landrum, South Carolina, this place is the epitome of what a good pub should be; great atmosphere, friendly staff, and good, hearty food. My wife and I stopped on our way through the backroads to Charlotte and decided to have a little lunch. Based on the reviews, my hopes were high. Let me just say that they were in no way left wanting. This place is great! The staff was obviously haggard a bit from the large amount of eaters during the lunch rush, but our server was pleasant, the service was fast, and the food was better than expected. A great place to eat any time you pass through Landrum!
Great atmosphere! My favorites are the potato skins, spinach dip, Honey Child, Ribs and Chicken fingers. Their house specials are always good too! They have a good lasagna house special and i love the fish with apricot glaze.
The food was good. Of note – the home fries and homemade honey mustard sauce. Several people ordered the chicken salad while we were waiting, so I would give that a try. Also, the spinach and artichoke dip looked amazing. I had the soup and sandwich with a ruben and roasted red pepper soup, both delicious. My husband had the patty melt, I think he would order something different next time -good, but nothing to write home about.

So yummy!. I drove an hour to have their famous ribs, and I was not disappointed. Our server was so nice, and she was so very helpful. She let us try the soups before we decided on which one to have. The blue cheese cole slaw was to die for. We finished with the bread pudding. I have to try bread pudding at any restaurant that offers it. This one was fantastic! Overall, the experience was great!
WOW!!!!. I have eaten there 4 times. Each time it gets better and better.When I think they have achieved perfection, they out do thereselves. I am so pleased with the service as well as the food. All the food compliments each other. I am a fan of there Sirloin Steak. It has so much flavor and doesnt really need any sauce to make it good.I also like the Chicken Fingers. Succulent and tender.The Mozzerella Sticks are in a class of there own.All the sauces are made onsite. I am a sauce and dressing aficionado. Very well done!!!!!!
We have visited Hare & Hound many times and recently we have watched the quality of service go downhill FAST! if you go, ask for the older gentleman to wait on you (he is there local shining glory) or you will deal with staff that preaches they are trained to drop the check if you aren’t having dessert. Originally, this was considered a PUB and prided themselves on great beer, liquor, and the after dinner cordial. Now they pride themselves on the Turn and Burn of their customers. Sadly, turn over doesn’t make for long term customers. Hopefully, the management will notice.
