Terrific food. Food was worth the drive. Food and service was excellent
Just yuck!
Institution style food. The bbq is pre-drenched in sauce! The canned or frozen vegetables are over sugared! There are no options for a lower priced vegetable plate. There is no option for a 100 lb. 75 year old who eats like a 7 year old to pay for a child’s portion. The only reason to go is if you are looking for quantity instead of quality!! Overpriced for institution style food!
Institution style food. BBQ would be better if you could add the amount of sauce YOU like, but it is pre-drenched in sauce. Have been going periodically for over 40 years and the veggies USED to look and taste like they were from local farms. The cream corn USED to look and taste like it was just cut off the cob. Now the veggies look and taste like sugared-up can or frozen vegetables! I have a vegetarian son and a 110 lb, 75 year old mom. There is no way they got their moneys worth! There is no option to get a lower priced veggie plate or a child’s portion for an elderly person who eats like a 7 year old.The food is not terrible, just not great, and greatly overpriced for what it is. The workers are nice and the place is clean but the only reason to go is if you are looking for quantity, not quality!
This place will remind you of your old high school lunchroom layout but having great production comfort food.What a great BBQ and crunchy fried chicken establishment, mummmm good.Just like my mother and grandmother’s fried chicken cooked in the old cured black cast iron heavy frying pan. Just a great place to dive in all you can eat.So like any restruant it may have a bad day once in a blue moon,but I have always had outstanding food experience. So don’t fret with a bad review as it has always been a great place to eat.
So so BBQ buffet. Ate here about a month ago with some family members. We did the lunch buffet it was around 10 $ or so . There was plenty of food to be had BBQ , fried chicken and lots of veggies. Lets just say as a well known bbq joint this place did not live up to expectations . The BBQ was saturated in its sauce / flavor overpowering couldn’t taste the pork at all . The fried chicken tasted sort of old or burnt like it was cooked in 10 day old oil. The gr beans and other veggies had added sugar to them, they were sweet (who eats sweet green beans ) and mushy . Desserts are run of the mill jello and whip cream type junk . Good sweet tea though . For better BBQ try Hites or True BBQ both in west Columbia
Absolutely love this place!!!!!!! It’s a great BBQ joint, with delicious veggies, especially their green beans and creamed corn. It can get crowded at main meal times even though its in a small town. Totally worth the trip, great food!!!!!
