If youre looking for an authentic British Pub, look elsewhere. My husband is from England and we are constantly searching for authentic fare to enjoy with our three girls. The decor and atmosphere is correct, everything else is seriously lacking. Our waiter knew nothing of England or English food, not his fault, but not selling me on the experience or dishes to try. And he didnt know was Marmite was. Again, not his fault, but definitely no training on British food has happened for him.We were there in the morning on a Saturday and hoping for some great English breakfast.Scotch eggs. Lacked flavor, needed salt, didnt have enough sausage wrapped on them and then were fried to an extremely dark brown bordering on black. All served hot, no colmans.Welsh rarebit. We have never seen a version so off. The bread was huge chunky French bread with a very liquidy cheese that seemed more like a smoky beer than a cheese sauce, and unripe tomatoes that touched a grill to get a char but not cooked through in the slightest.Sausage rolls. Dry brats wrapped in puff. No colmans.English breakfast. A traditional English breakfast is eggs, potatoes, fried tomatoes, fried mushrooms, british baked beans, fried toast (in bacon grease), back bacon, bangers (british sausage), and often black pudding. Their breakfast claims to be all that except the potatoes and pudding. They do not deliver. The fried tomatoes are unripe tomatoes that touch the grill and do not get cooked through. The mushrooms are not fried, but sauted and have an off flavor to them. The baked beans are not british but just American Buschs – which is entirely different from british. They tasted fine, but as we wanted tomato based British baked beans and we were served brown sugar based American, it was a let down for sure. The toast was fried, but in a fryer I guess? Totally soaked with oil, tasted like an elephant ear from the fair. I would order just regular toast next time. The back bacon was just salt country bacon, which to me was inedible. The sausages where American brats that were sliced in half and dry. No attempt at making them proper bangers. My brother was with us and ordered a non-british lunch, the Rueben. It was also terrible. Over-cooked fries, dry stringy corned beef, and burnt at the edges. And all of this disappointment took two hours to experience.I would never eat here again. I would not recommend it. It is irritating that they are claiming to be British food.
Excellent food, extensive beer menu, great atmosphere. Service can be a bit slow at times but always friendly. The location is also conveniently located within walking distance to a nice theater with newly reclining seats so makes for a nice casual dinner and a movie date night.
