2 strikes and your out. Ate here last Saturday night 15th Nov. Started with server who i think was in her early 50’s seemed as if she did not want to wait on us . Ordered 2 small salads 2 drinks and one large pizza , she brought the drinks and salad and we never saw here again till our meal was over and done.Pizza arrived via a different waitress . went my entire meal with no drink . By the way the pizza was on par with a frozen red baron pizza , it was down right disgusting . Cheap toppings paper thin pepperoni, sub par mozz cheese and a thicker nasty crust , sauce was sweet which reminded me of chef boyardee. Found another waitress to round up our waitress . Our waitress arrived apologized handed us the bill and let again. Never asked how meal was if we need refills never asked if we wanted dessert. Will never go back one of the worst restaurant experiences we ever had.

Great Family Italian. Not a chain restaurant but family run. Very friendly folks and wait staff. Menu not elaborate but very good and makes for a tasty meal. Not too many choices in this part of town but when in town, this is a known quantity and everything is very consistent.

Good food, but. The Villa has good food that is reasonably priced. A lot of things on the menu seem small when you get them, but don’t let the appearance fool them. Service is pretty lousy in general though.

Satisfied. I have been going to the Villa for well over 30 years. Starting off first in Five Points. To me, the food is fantastic, the prices are great and everyone who works there has always gone out of their way to make sure everything was okay. Granted the decor needs a little updating, but hey, I would rather have a good mean, a friendly staff that worry about the decor and updates. Whoever is more concerned about decor than the intial mean really doesn’t need to eat out, just stay at home and admire your own decor and poor menu

The Villa is a Italian restaurant in the Dutch Square area in Columbia, SC. When I first moved to Columbia I remember hearing people say this place was good. Time though hasn’t been kind to The Villa, I think you could call the place an Italian dive which is rare. It was a slow Thursday night at The Villa, yet I still had to seat myself and get my own menu. There was only 5 groups of people at the resturant but the wait staff seemed utterly overwhelm. I couldn’t help observing everything around me. The dcor hadn’t been updated since Nixon was in The White House. I also noticed that no one in the kitchen seemed to care about the food, the manager looked as if he wanted to end it all right here right now and hang himself from one of the 60’s era ceiling lamps and the wait staff look as if they would’ve watched eagerly. 7 minutes later someone came over and took our order. I had a small sausage pizza and my girlfriend had the spaghetti with meat sauce and mushrooms. Everything came out fast maybe a little to fast… The sauce was just the way she liked it, thick and not runny. However I thought it tasted the way my pizza tasted generic. The pizza was a thin crust, which I usually love and god bless them they have shredded sausage which is my favorite topping. So why does it taste so generic? I had to ask, I talked to a cook that has worked for The Villa for 15 years. I was told The Villa doesn’t make anything from scratch anymore, they use a food service called Roma. Roma is commonly used in Italian restaurants, and does have decent products and I’ve liked there stuff else where. With that said you have to do something to the products add something of yourself. WTF, you have a butcher in back of your place use their meats! It’s not Roma’s fault your food is just average. I would tell you to go else where, but where? There isn’t another Italian restaurant within 15 miles, and no chain restaurants don’t count. The closest good Italian restaurant is out by Lake Murray (Alodia’s). So quick I need an Italian restaurant on this side of town stat, or at the very least new management at The Villa someone that still has a fire in his or her belly. Bottom line if you want a cheap night out The Villa has it, was only $15.00 for everything we ordered, but not terribly good either! PS: If you do go even after that review you might want to bring three things with you. First, a gas mask the butcher in back of the place makes the parking lot smell foul. Second, some night vision goggles it’s dark in there! Third, maybe some seventies clothing, take a trip in time!
