Only BBQ buffet for us!. This is a great place to eat, the only place we ever go when we want a buffet. I had another buffet place that I grew up with and I stopped going after I finally went to Brown’s. The owner is nice, the place is clean, and the workers are great. I’ve never had a bad experience. They are local people trying to provide the kind of bbq we all grew up with. I am kicking myself for not going sooner!! The price is what you would expect for a bbq buffet, nobody has McD’s pricing for bbq so people need to get over that. My son and husband are very picky when it comes to food and this is the only place they will eat bbq! My only complaint would be that I can’t eat it every single day or I would end up as big as a house but that isn’t their problem!!
All You Taste Is Vinegar. I truly wanted to enjoy tasty balanced vinegar based North Carolina style BBQ but unfortunately there is so much vinegar and pepper that you cannot even taste the meat which was lacking in character. The wait staff are attentive and cheerful but unless your primary product is treated correctly it does not work. I am very familiar with good vinegar based BBQ such as from Hemingway, SC but unless the Pitmaster concentrates on presenting the meat rather than drowning with vinegar it will not work. Go back to basics, cook with proper wood or coals, and temper the use of the sauce. Overall, good staff but needs work on the primary product.
Everything on the buffet was delicious!! Best BBQ I have had in quite a while!! Also the Mac n cheese and dressing were the BEST!! Very nice folks!! Will definitely be back!!
I am in total agreement with rascal. I am a huge bbq fan and have had it all over the lowcountry. This by far is the worst I have ever had. The meat had so much vinegar that it could choke a horse. As for the rest of the food on the bar, it was average and nothing special about veggies. The service was okay, but i have never seen a drink service at a bbq buffet. @ 12 Bucks it is rather expensive for what you get. I wont be back and will not be recommending this place to anyone.
Though I am a BBQ fan, the food was not good enough to be terrible. The $12 price was way too high for the limited selection. The staff was nice and courteous. If I went there in 100 years, it would be too soon.
Vinegar based BBQ at it’s finest! I love the brown sauce, its not thick and soaks in the meat! Small country style restaurant, nice people serving a southern tradition. I always look forward to stopping by there if I am in the Monks Corner Area.
Simple country cooking at its finest. Pulled pork and world class fried chicken are on the buffet every day with other meats rotating daily. Excellent red rice and chicken bog. Always several choices of casseroles and cooked vegetables. Go back as many times as you can stand for around $8.
