Overpriced. The food is overpriced for the quality. Go to Taste of Thai instead.
Great ambiance. Another favorite of my vegan buddy. He gets the Curry vegetables. Not the best Pad Thai in town, but it will work. The ambiance of this location is nice. Great place to take a date.
Pretty darn good food!. We had lunch here over the weekend. I had the California Roll and the Shrimp Tempura Roll and my husband had the Chicken Katsu. Having lived in Japan we found the Katsu very traditional, but would love it if the meal would consider some Japanese style curry with it. (A very traditional winter meal in Japan). I do want to go back to try the dessert menu. There was some sore of cheesecake wrapped in eggroll wrapper and fried???? Sounded delicious, and there are plenty of other things to try as well!
The Thai Curry was not Thai or Curry. It was a nice Japanese stir fry but no sauce & average for curry flavor, super small portion for the price (even in Charleston’s standards). I won’t get it again & not sure if I’ll return to Bambu.
Excellent. Ordered 3 apps and a roll, all were fantastic, owners are lovely and even sent out a desert for us. Try the spicy truffle edamame, crispy shrimp and dumpling appetizers, and the Cooper Roll was right on. Chinese doughnuts are fabulous. I think the food has actually gotten better over the past year!
Will not go back- ever.. I had take out from Bambu. I had 3 sushi rolls and it was $23! They were small, basic rolls- not even the big fancy ones. One roll (Charleston roll) was bad. The other two rolls (spider roll & philly roll) were mediocre. I will never go back.
Going Down Hill Fast. Bambu used to be very good. It has been sold recently and is going down hill fast. I have been there countless times for sushi and sashimi over the last five years, but business is way off, and the sushi and shashimi have gone from very good to terrible. Stick a fork in this one; it’s done.
