Cute cafe with okay food. I had the vegetable plate, which was four sides. Mine were tomato pie, pimento cheese grit cake, slaw, and garden veggies. It seemed a littl epricey for the quality of food, but there was plenty of it. Seating was tight with lots of us only having two people sitting at tables for four or more.
Saw this place while driving from Charleston to Myrtle Beach. Great little grocery store and restaurant. I had the daily special (which was pork chops and two sides) and my wife had their cheese, fried green tomato sandwich (the one they show as being in Southern Living). My food was great. Her sandwich was good too. But, a little on the heavy side in terms of fat and grease. Overall : this is a great choice for a casual lunch. I’d definitely go back!
Good country cooking. My husband and I ate lunch here, so between us we had the fried chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, mac & cheese, fried green tomatoes, pimento cheese grit cake, and cornbread. We enjoyed everything but the fried green tomatoes, which were a little bland and tough. The lady who took our order was super sweet, and we loved the atmosphere. The bonus is getting to shop for fresh produce and unique items afterward. The desserts looked great, but we were too full to try them. Maybe next time.
Great place to pick up a to-go meal
Absolutely great food! Girlfriend and I came here for brunch on a Sunday and were overly joyed with the food. Sweet potatoe fries were top notch!
Usually good, not today. Usually good, but today the black eyes were not done. The fried green tomatoes were so thin and the batter had cooked so long that it was hard to cut them. Cornbread and tomatoes were sitting in a pool of liquid from other vegetables. Sorry but not today. I ate part and left. The cook must always taste his food.
One of my favs. I can not eat enough Fried Green Tomato & Honey Ham Paninis from here. Or collards. Or mac n cheese. Or tomato pie. SO good; you really should go..
