Vickery’s is ok. The restaurant has a great deck that overlooks the marsh and water. It’s a fun place to have drinks and an appetizer. The dinner entrees are mediocre. Go for the view and for drinks but do not expect anything fabulous. There is almost always a wait as well.
I like Vickerys. Been there several times. Usually order the fried green tomato dish. The food and service is good, but I mostly go there because of the location.
I was very disappointed.. I had the occasion to visit the area for the first time today. I asked around about a good place to eat lunch near the water and was told about Vickery’s. But I’m sorry to say that I was not thrilled. First of all, the hostess never said a word when I walked in. She just gave me a weird look. I had to do the speaking. That should be a huge no-no. Part of her job should be greeting customers with a smile. She, honestly, was pretty unfriendly. I chose lemonade for a beverage and it was okay but tasted flat. The slaw I had was unedible. It was bitter and tasted terrible. I’m not sure if it was bad or not but I wasn’t going to take a chance. I chose the fried shrimp and they were good but I was surprised at how tiny they were. The fries were lukewarm and wimpy. All in all, I spent $23 for a lunch that, in my opinion, was of far less quality than Red Lobster. I was pretty disappointed.
A nearby customer started a chat with me, disagreed with my answers to his questions, then actually started to provoke a fight by approaching me, then flicking a finger in my face. Nearby employee threw him out, then proceeded to throw me out. I am 67uo, a decorated veteran who nonetheless has had 3 heart attacks. It was witnessed. This place is owned & run by dirtbags. Never to return, ever. Good was decent but clearly a dangerous place not suitable for families older folks.
Service was wonderful, food was outstanding. Only request-bring back the porkchop!!
My wife and I like this place. We stopped in for a late lunch and enjoyed what we got. Service was good and the veiw was appealing. I would rate this place 31/2 out of 5 stars.
Good food. My boyfriend and I get the large fried seafood platter and share it. It is always good, and I appreciate that this place is open late.
