Worst dining experience ever!. I came to Zoe’s Kitchen on Saturday Oct 18, 2014. I am a make up artist in town for the Belk Re-Grand Opening. After hearing it was yummy I headed over. I stood in line a while- expected. No worries. Then waited at my table for my lunch. 51 minutes later as my break was well past over I see an employee Christine be asked when someone’s order would be ready as they had waited almost as long as myself. Her outright rude answer shocked us all as we looked at each other like ‘Did that just happen?!?’ When patrons are waiting over 45 min for a soup and sand which the staff should be more than accomidating and gracious. Christine behaved totally unacceptable as I walked up to the front as they were just making their way to my table and I told them that I must have it in a To-go box as I was already very late. Instead of apologizing she took my food and flipped the plate into the box and dumped my soup into a cup. When I asked for a spoon (cause it’s totally realistic to think I would need a spoon with my soup I get to eat on the way back to the store) she glared, rolled her eyes and threw one in my bag. Folks, I don’t know about you but that’s a Hell No in my book. My food was fairly tasty but not even close to worth going back to that nightmare of a eatery. I am the most polite and friendly woman you will ever meet, so I’m highly sure that what I did was not offensive. If this restaurant desires any longevity with the sweet southern people of Mt. Pleasant they will do well to fire their current staff and hire kind and sincere employees. I was annoyed my food took forever but I was angry about being treated poorly.
I like the idea of this place but the experience fell quite short of expectations. Every surface in the restaurant was dirty. I noticed someone had refilled the supplies (straws, lids etc) but still didn’t bother to wipe down the sticky counters covered in soda and crumbs. Then there was the salads. I had the chicken and fruit my daughter had the Greek. Ironically we sat next to the sign that said everything is cut fresh daily, but my fruit had the slime of being cut several days ago and the lettuce had turned brown where it had been cut days ago as well. One can only imagine the cleanliness of the kitchen when the dining area was neglected so…
Agreed. Pretty bland. Waited 40 minutes for my lunch. They did refund my money without me asking so worth a free lunch
Happy to Find. Was in Charleston for the day and stumbled upon Zoes. Mediterranean is hard to find down here. Well good anyway. There products are all fresh. I would have liked more olives but it’s refreshing to eat a great salad not loaded down with US style salad fixin’s.Nice chicken salad.Wish they didn’t have cookies and sweet tea. Kind of conflicts the place.
Dana provided excellent service. She was friendly, patient, and answered all my questions. She deserves a raise because she represents this restaurant wonderfully. The food was good too, but service goes a long way.
Dec. 23 at 730 pm,i remembered zoe’s was around the corner and open! a cup of tomato soup, along with a qinoa salad and a grueben later, and i am so pleasantly reminded of why i love this place.good healthy food is served by a polite, knowledgeable and gracious staff. the ambience in the restaurant is so fresh and relaxing. i sat down to dinner with the woman i love and this jaded new yorker melted in the warmth of authentic greek food. oh so good!
Five of Ten. Not a Mediterranean cuisine
