Overpriced and Too Much Fried Seafood. Buffet price is not listed and only mentioned after seated. Near $30 per person in 2014. Seafood quality is marginal with way too many fried items. My wife spent an hour trying to induce vomiting because what she ate didn’t digest well. I would strongly suggest avoiding. We went here on a local’s suggestion and my view was reinforced that buffets are to be avoided.

The quality just wasn’t worth the price. I wouldn’t bother to go back. The fried oysters were soggy and room temperature. The shellfish was overcooked and rubbery. The pluses: crab legs are included in the base buffet price of $25 and the servers were very nice and attentive.

Hooks Calabad. Did not know what calabash style was so we tried this restaurant, one of many so called calabash eateries. I withhold judgement of the other calabash buffets but this one was not worth the time or $24.95. The crab legs were absolutely flavorless as if they had been boiled to bland. The blackend salmon could have passed for any number of other type of fish. Other seafood offerings were equally flavorless with the exception of the shrimp. I passed on shucking oysters so I have no opinion there. Other than the kind and attentive waitstaff, I can find nothing redeeming about this establishment. Perhaps it should have closed for the season as others have done and wait till spring break when many diners may be too drunk to care what they eat. Sorry to be so negative but just want to warn you to look elsewhere for a good seafood buffet.

Hooks was awesome. We did the buffet with crab legs. That is our m.o. We hit crab legs and hit them hard. First, they have a super coupon in Monster. Dawn was the best. Very friendly and professional. Other food was ok but that is not why we were there. Crablegs were the best snd honestly…I think they lost money on us. Thanks Hooks. We will return

Awesome. We splurged and went for the all you can eat lobster and it was worth it. The waitress was awesome and she kept bringing the tails.

Ignore the naysayers. We debated about going to Hooks because we read some bad reviews. Wow were we glad we judged for ourselves. Fantastic food – they kept the lobsters coming hot and frequently. Everything else on the buffet was phenomenal. We would highly recommend it and would go again and again.

Surprisingly Good. I had never eaten at hooks until this year, and was pleasanlty surprised. The crab legs were the biggest and best that we had at the beach this year. I will definitely be back, and the all you can eat lobster also adds a nice touch.
