Key West Grill has spacious indoor seating and an outdoor bar with tables located over the lake. We got the tacos and Cuban chicken dip from the happy hour menu. The chicken dip is great for a group of friends looking for an appetizer to share. Key West Grill has happy hour DAILY and the servers are wonderful. No flavor and slow service.. We went for a late lunch, the restaurant was almost empty (there may have been 5 other parties). Key West was nice looking and right on the water, but that is the only pro I can give. Since we were one of the few people eating at that time of day we certainly didn’t expect to wait almost 10 minutes to get our drinks (unsweetened tea and diet coke). Our orders took another 15 minutes. One of the parties actually got up and left. Not sure if it was the time it took for the waitress to get take their orders, but I suspect it was. Food arrived and looked great. My husband just had a burger and fries. He asked for medium well, was over cooked and rubbery. I went for the Captain’s catch of the day (a choice between tilapia or salmon.) I chose the tilapia, pan-seared, pineapple-mango salsa, with a side of slaw, and yellow rice with black beans. The slaw was all right, but the fish, salsa , yellow-rice with black beans…no flavor, all of it was very bland. We were hugely disappointed in this restaurant and will not go back.
We both had the fresh catch of the day grouper and it was very expensive!! And the fish was a small portion and garlic mash potatoes were dry and not much flavor. We waited almost an hour for our food. On the upside the chicken dip appetizer was yummy!!! Restrooms were nasty. 🙂 not going to be a repeat customer.
Recommend by friends who vacation often at MB. My opinion, overrated. The nachos were excellent but the food was average and over priced. Nothing great and a slight disappointment. Our sever Louie was awesome!
Go For the Seafood!. We stopped by for dinner one night and really thought this place was interesting. The service was slow at the beginning but got quicker towards the end. I was talked out of the Lobster Thermidor pizza and ended up sharing the Captain’s Platter with my girl. It was a choice that I didn’t regret. The plate was huge and included a tail-on flounder as well as other sea creatures. The price was also fair (for seafood) and left us feeling we got our money’s worth. Not a place I’d go every day, but hey, this is vacation!
BIG Avoid!!!. Stumbled in after a busy day. Had hoped for Margarittaville but the wait was 3 hrs on a Wed. This place has cool decore. Kids liked the pirates and the restaurant features a beautiful blue parrott named Kiwi. The sign says he bites and we watched him bite this jerk who was tormenting him. He snagged his cell phone too and pitched it on to the hard tile floor where it smashed into pieces. Justice. Should have left then but we waited for 20-25 minutes and were quickly seated and greeted. Waitress got our drink order and brought us bread in minutes. She took our order (burgers, pizza, salad, corndog) then she just vanished. We were happily chatting away until we realized that everyone else around us was eating. When I went to go find her, she was just gone. She sheepishly showed up w some stale chips and said she was sorry, but wouldn’t even look us in the eye. The mgr came over, said our food was up next, said he was sorry. Anyway, fill in the rest of this story with bad food, really bad service and you get the gist. Just stay away! Go to Ben and Jerry’s and have 2 scoops. Way more fun!
Do not dine at the Key West Grill.. The food was not good. The prices were high. That is all.
