They were overpriced and portions were small. They even charged us for water. Got the crab cake sandwich. So salty I could barley eat it and the side of a handful of average super market bbq potatoe chips out of a bag didn’t help. Wait staff very unknowlegdable about the menu and slow.
The owner is an absolute jerk. The business was closed as it was 11:00 on Sunday morning. He has a VERY small sign facing away from vehicles turning right that says no parking. We never saw it. We parked there for an hour to come out and find our vehicle being hooked up to a tow truck. I totally understand if his business was open. It wasn’t. Please don’t patronize a business whose concrete is more important than customers.
How can anyone be so rude and expect them to be patient.They were not busy either. We had 7 in our party…3 of them were children. they suggested we order appetizers because it would take a while…don’t they cook those too! We order one appetizer and it took an hour and half to get those little crab balls. We should have just left, but we waited 2 hrs, before we got our food…shrimp, snow crab legs, chicken strips. The food was tasty, but we wondered if they had left us to catch it. Several couples came in after us at least one couple gave up and left and others got their food before us. The waitress came over after we had our food and asked how we wanted to handle out bill. This was the only time we saw her…my daughter ask to see the manager(probably her husband) He told my daughter maybe the service was better in NC …like why don’t you go there! She told him she could cook crab legs in less than an hour…he said he could cook them in 8 minutes…she said then why didn’t you! Our combined bills were over 130 dollars…we leave 20% usually…but no way was that going to happen this time. No matter how good the food might be…who wants to wait that long and put up with the rudeness and lack of service?

Awesome blue crabs and steamed shrimp. We always get takeout so I can’t speak to many things other reviews mention but their fresh steamed blue crabs and shrimp are plain AWESOME!
On Vacation. This place is great. Yes it’s a dive, but that’s what a crab shack is suppose to be. If you come here and don’t get crab then why come to a crab shack? They have blue crab it’s amazing! Me and my family come here every year on vacation. We love the laid back feel good environment. It’s like the neighborhood bar back home. Dining is about sitting with you family and enjoying food. You don’t have to rush everything in life.
We waited an hour and half for food and didn’t receive two meals, and it took forever to receive some oysters and 2 salads. We left $20 on the table and left the restuarant and the waitress put her hands on my 65 year old Grandmother and threatened to call the cops for not paying the full bill. Do not go, you can find much better service down the road.
