Completely terrible. I work in food and bev, and this is one the worst run places I’ve ever seen. Food was over cooked and the server acted like he was on drugs. The sushi was ok, but they were out of most of the cold sakes. What Japanese place runs out of sake?
Horrible food. The food was horrible. The chicken and steak were tough. The chef barely provided any interaction. We had 15 people and none of us will go back.
Save your money. Last evening was my first time at the Sake House. Needless to say I should have been warned in the beginning when I called to make reservations for 6 and they had already lost them by the next morning when I called to confirm. Sake House is more of a glorified Chinese restaurant with no one having specific roles other than the hibachi chef himself. And that was probably because the others either couldn’t, or didn’t want to, cook. Hibachi food was well prepared and the chef was nice. Two of the people in our group ordered from the menu instead and even after all the other four of us had all our food prepared for us, the other two’s food was not even on the radar. Apparently, they had lost their order. No apology. So finally after we had all eaten, the others food was finally brought out. Disheartening to eat your meal and NONE of the previous dishes were removed so we got to eat with all the dishes all around us. Finally, we received our bills. Let’s just say, It was a tank of gas for me and it cost my $60 to fill mine. This was my first and last time there. I would recommend keeping your money you would spend there and go to another. OR better yet, stay home instead of wasting your money at the Sake House.
Great food and friendly staff. My husband and I had a great time.
Terrible.. Sake house’s food is average, if not below average. The value for the meal is terrible. I think it’s very expensive and not worth my money or time.
Worst Hibachi I’ve Had. My fiance and I decided to try this restaurant tonight and I was not pleased. I love Japanese food, but this wasn’t good at all. The ginger salad dressing was good, but that was about it. First of all, they put teriyaki sauce on EVERYTHING, which I’ve never experienced at a hibachi restaurant before. It just made everything taste the same and everything was too salty because of it. The white sauce (one of my favorite things about Japanese steakhouses) wasn’t even good. Most people would have enjoyed the chef, who put on a great show, which is good, but I felt like he also went out of his way to almost embarrass the customers. I don’t go to a restaurant to have food thrown at me and alcohol squirted into my mouth. And about the alcohol squirting, he did it to everyone at my table except me (I refused), and only two of the fellow customers looked definitely of-age. No IDs were checked on anyone. I feel like that’s just asking for trouble. Overall, it was a bad experience and we won’t be returning. I’d recommend Yokoso or even Seasons of Japan or Sanno over this place.
This place was fantastic. Waitress seemed nervous, (maybe she’s new) but very sweet and tried her best. The chef was entertaining, and a put on a nice show. I ordered the hibachi filet mignon, it was typical, nothing exciting. My boyfriend ordered the filet and lobster, he loved it. The rice was amazing! They put teriyaki sauce in it too. The vegetables were great, and so was the miso and clear soup! Interior was very clean and beautiful. We are from Jacksonville, but will definitely visit the place next time we are in town.
