Go for the hibachi, and just the hibachi. Not a bad word to say about the hibachi aspect. Shrimp was fantastic, steak was good, rice and veggies all passed. it was delicious hibachi food served by a great entertainer that was quick on his feet and put on a good act. It gives you everything a hibachi dinner is expected to at the right levels without going over the top, I would advise going if that’s all you’re interested in.The sushi though, boo. I ordered a firecracker roll and, to put it short, it just really wasn’t good. One of the most beautiful and complex cuisines out there with so many brilliant pairings, and then…. this thing. Ate it because it cost me ten bucks, but it was just acidic on top of acidic and I would not recommend it to anyone. It made me sad, what a waste of ingredients (and money.) Maybe the other rolls are good, but considering this was a signature roll of the restaurant and unbelievably half assed I won’t be trying any. It LOOKED great, it just wasn’t.I would (and probably will) go back for the hibachi, it was delicious. The sushi in all sincerity next time I want a fix I’d go to a grocery store first.
Always delicious, and the cooks and sushi chefs all have wonderful personalities! We usually come here at least once every week or two and Yokoso never disappoints!
This is NOT a Japanese Steakhouse. I’ve given this place two chances, thinking the first I may have been too critical. However, upon my second try this is not a place I would recommend at all. What is with no seasonings on their food, except soy sauce. No garlic, no onion, no vegetables. This is the most awful place to eat a meal. The soup doesn’t even have a good taste. Unless you have eaten at a variety of Japanese Steakhouses, a large slab of rice does not a good meal make!
NEVER again!. My party was told we would get the same service if we sat at a table without a grill. WRONG!!! After an hour and 30 minutes later our food never came! Every time we went to ask someone what was taking so long we were told they were cooking it now. Finally, it got to the point where everyone in my party decided it was time to walk out. The manager had enough nerve to charge us for the soup and salad. The manager (Asian woman) could barely speak English and she was unable to comprehend the complaints from my party about the poor customer service. This was by far the worst service I’ve ever experienced in my life!
Worst Service Ever!. The waiter was very inattentive. Our drinks were only refilled once, and that was after they had been empty for over a half an hour. He couldn’t remember who had what and mixed our orders up multiple times. After trying to get his attention for nearly twenty minutes, we gave up. The overall food was okay, however, a friend that came with us, ordered his steak rare. It was served medium, if not well done. When he requested to speak with the chef, the chef argued with him about how it was cooked. After we were boxed up and waiting for our checks, which we requested to split three ways for three separate parties (not that difficult you would think) the waiter had to re-do our tickets 4 times before he got them correct. We definitely will not be returning, and will not be recommending it to anyone.
Best japanese food on the east coast. I have been to several in Virginia, North and South Carolina, and Florida. Even better than benihannas. But this is better with smaller groups than giant ones
My group of 12 waited 2 hours with prior reservation we waited at the bar which was swamped and took 30 mins to get drinks. We found some other place after our wait, management was obviously not in on a Friday night. Even if we got seated the food would never make up for the wait.
