Went in to have a few beers. Left a few hours later after getting lunch and drinking more. Looks like a hole, and it is. But the food was excellent. Will be a regular lunch spot now as I have a condo across the street. Wish I found it sooner.
I just went in to have a few beers. People around me were ordering food and it looked better than I expected from the places appearance. It looks like a dive operation, and it is. But I got a Reuben and it was great. The fried shrimp, sandwiches and wraps being eaten around me looked great. I ended up spending $18 (plus tip) for 7 PBRs and the Reuben. Beat that.
Best Shrimp EVER. If you’re looking for a fancy seafood place… this is not the place for you. But if you’re spending the day on the beach and want a laid back meal you will love HOTO’s! We’ve been going here for years and we love the outdoor patio because you can just walk up as you are. The main attraction at HOTO’s are the steamed Shrimp. Holy cow they are good!! By far the best in Myrtle. They are covered in a Cajun rub with lemon and onions. They serve them with real butter and cocktail sauce. My mouth is watering just thinking about them! The other food they serve is good too, but do not leave without trying the shrimp. Service is laid back, so don’t come in a rush. It’s fine for families during lunch hours but the inside is a little smokey, so I suggest sticking with the back patio for fresh air. This is the ultimate seafood shack, give them a try!
A fun little hole in the wall.. My husband and I probably never would have even noticed this place had it not been sitting pretty much in the parking lot of our resort. We have now gone there 3 times and always had a great time. We have never been there during regular food hours so all I can give my opinion on is the after hours bar food and the drinks. The food is well run of the mill, but the drinks and staff are awesome. The decor is…eh lacking, but who cares about that if you are just looking for a good time within walking distance of your hotel/resort. I say if you are staying at the Wyndam Towers on the grove you should give it a shot.
