Come for the beer…. Nothing else.. Food was only a little above bar food. I asked for the popular sandwich. So I got the BBQ chicken. Taste was bland. No BBQ sauce. Wait staff was OK. But lacked attention when needed. Great beer selection but save your money for food. Go next door to flip side
Great Pizza !. I look the wood fired pizza oven, it cooks a great pizza pie. More beer choices then anywhere else in town.
Just stopped here on the way up to North Carolina and was very pleased. We decided to venture out from the typical fast food places off the highway and it was well worth it. Only about 2.5 miles off track, this place has a. Awesome atmosphere and very friendly staff. Pizza was ready in 15 min as they said it would. Interesting flavors, great tasting crust. Though we didn’t have a chance to partake, I noticed a hefty, diverse beer tap assortment & good specials too. Would def frequent if I lived closer!
Wanted to like it but…… Had my first experience at Millstone was when it first opened. I was not impressed with the pizza. Burned on the bottom and top of the crust and the dough not cooked. Well a year later we go back hoping they have learned how to work a high heat brick oven. I am sad to report that the same problem exists. I support a vital downtown and really want this place to succeed but I don’t think I will be back especially at 12-14 bucks for a small personal pizza. Maybe the focus is on craft beers but I don’t drink so it holds nothing for me. I was going to complain but it was obvious they are oblivious to poor technique and craft. If you want much better pizza in Rock Hill go to Mario’s, Luigi’s or Earthfare these are far superior to Millstone.
Food was good, beer was OK, but…. My wife and I came in to sit at he bar which we have done before, last Monday night. While our bartender was OK they did not really know much about the 30 or so taps on the wall and sort of shrugged when we asked how some beers were. We had really good service from a girl who was very knowledgeable about the beer a few months before so we were expecting lots of ‘beer talk’ again, but I guess it’s ok they didn’t want to talk. The food was good – she had the bbq chicken salad and I had a small pizza with sausage and onions and basil. But the draw to us was the beer and the good advice we had before about it and it was sort of disheartening to have someone who couldn’t tell us which IPAs were hoppy and which were not. Will still come back. But wish staff could not act exasperated to tell us about beer or give us samples.
I don’t understand any negative reviews. Millstone is easily one of the best places in Rock Hill. Yes, the pizzas are not $5 a pie. If you are looking for that type of pizza, go to Pizza Hut. However, if you like great food, nice beer selection, and a relaxed atmosphere, you will definitely like Millstone.
Embarrassing. Waited for way too long for a table of 5. The guy sat everyone with 4 rather than combining tables so we could sit. I won’t be back
