Going down hill fast. 9/18/14 – Simpsonville restaurant – My wife & I visited almost every Thursday for 2-1/2 years, we loved it. Waiters Tomas & Sylvia loved them. Sergio great guy. For the past 6 months food has progressively gotten worse. Margaritas much too sweet, packed with ice & little or no Tequila. I had always had the Happy Hour Tequilas & they at one time, long ago were decent……no more. Last night I thought I’d try the $5.00 small Tequila, packed with ice & just the same as the Happy Hour version. I had carne assada like, shoe leather, could barely chew it. My wife’s enchilada was luke warm..We recently tried the Greenville location, food so, so margaritas same as Simpsonville & the waiter bordered on rude & service was poor.That’s our last visit………..what a shame!
Papas and Beer is delicious and authentic. I have never had anything to eat here that I didn’t love. There is no comparison with other local Mexican restaurants. You won’t regret it! Delicious!
We love Papas and Beer. We have eaten there several times since moving into the area. It is consistently good. It isn’t authentic Mexican but if one likes Tex-Mex it is a good place to try. They have never messed up our order even when they are super busy!

Best Tex-Mex restaurant in the area. Serves an important function in Simpsonville; a restaurant worth waiting to get into.
Really Good Food!!. We love Papa’s and Beer in Simpsonville near the clock tower. We have learned to get take out because there is no where to stand and wait except hovering over people. BUT, the workers are friendly, fast and helpful and the food is wonderful!Try the appetizer, Fajitas Nachos – loaded with veggies, chicken or steak and cheese!
Love this place! Great Food and atmosphere. Large portions. Will be regulars here! Yum!
