Very rude owner, and the girl at the front counter! She needs attitude adjustment ASAP! Went in to this place with my two daughters, two sisters their child each and a friend and her baby. So, since we are a party we are greeted with an 18% gratuity because of sitting together. Which in my opinion isn’t fair. If I came into this place just myself and kids I’d have same right to tipping the waitress what I choose just like everyone else. But, since I came in with family I have to be forced to pay. What if this waitress wasn’t a good one? That was not the case though she was actually a good waitress and the food was decent but, I wanted to tip her what I wanted to not what they choose. I’m a fairly good tipper. I was going to leave her $5 as it was me and my two kids. Seemed fair. They wanted me to pay $6.50 Ok, its not really about the money in a whole its a $1.50 more no big deal. The point is when I walked up to the counter I asked for the gratuity to be removed that I would leave the lady a tip as I choose fit. The man and women up at the front intimately started yelling at me, placing the menu on the counter telling me how it’s on the menu and the female said I do have to pay it. I didn’t personally see that but, so what. By right and law I am not forced to pay what they want me to pay on a tip. I suffer from social anxiety as it is and the embarrassment and humiliation i got from this was over whelming my hands were shaking. I told the women i was not talking to her i was talking to the man that I could not sit here and take arguing with two people! The man told me he did not appreciate me not paying the tip, then tired to guilt me telling me that i didn’t have to give the girl a tip at all and i tired to tip her and he gave me the money back and tipped her out of his own pocket. I told him I didn’t appreciate this either and that i wouldn’t be back.I know that there will be a lot of opinions on this matter as some that may be a waitress might feel strongly about the gratuity. I think that waitresses can be under paid but it is not our job to pay the waitresses its the companies! and what we tip should be a bonus and a gratitude of good service not forced to do so and the amount they want! My big sister was charged $3 and she was going to leave $5 so there the girl had lost $2 tip, and my little sister would of left $5 as well but because of them being so rude about the forced gratuity the girl got the forced $3 opposed to the $5 each she could of got. People do not stand up for themselves because of this exact reason! to save themselves of the embarrassment!! I left this place and was so upset by time i got to my car I was in tears! over a stupid and simple situation. I personally will never eat at this place again just simply because of those two rude people! The Owner/Manager and the female was a worker. If you get charged a gratuity and dispute it you will be met with rudeness. Just saying! I wish there was something that could be done about this public embarrassment!!!
I loved this place. The sushi was great, the service at the bar was great, bartender Amber was great, and on top of all that, EVERY day before 6:30 sushi and Martinis are half price for happy hour. It was a very happy hour for me!!!!
