This restaurant was excellent! For truley authentic Italian food they were spot on! My Chilean sea bass and my husbands medallion were cooked perfectly. Their balsamic reduction and Ragu was excellent. Tiramisu for desert was a perfect choice.
Horrible!. I went to Renatos for the first time and i cant say i was impressed. I had the shrimp in white sauce and it tasted as if he opened a can of classico and dumped it on the noodles. The service was slow and unprofessional i could clearly see the girls texting on their phones and giggling in the main dining area! To top it off we saw Renato come out of the kitchen swearing profusely, talking about the guests. We will never return.
I feel sorry for Spartanburg if this is the best they have to offer when it comes to Italian fare. Poorly cooked pasta, overpriced overall and no regard for long time customers. And to top it off the wait staff is really lacking. Wanted to like this place but have finally given up on Renato’s.
Beautiful!. My ex-wife is Sicilian, and I’ve traveled extensivley, including to Italy. While this is not the best, it is cerainly WELL ABOVE average for Spartanburg. Great atmosphere, and Renato, the owner, is a fantastic chef/owner/host. The Fish dishes are amazing, and all his seafood is super fresh. Request the homemade ‘cello’ after dinner. I highly recommend it
I’m from Baltimore and this is by far the best Italian restaurant I’ve ever been to. If you come here and don’t get the fish you’re making a mistake. Fantastic. Nuff said
This place is the real Italian rest. Ranato was born and trained in Italy. We are lucky to have this kind of Rest. In Spartanburg.
