Great food and service. Great chow mein and the best egg roll aince I was a kid. I ordered wrong and they gave me what I really wanted. Blame California where chow mein has noodles. Fried rice had great ingredients however the rice was really not fried. Would go again
The food at Hong Kong China is no doubt some of the most decent for Sumter, but every time I have eaten here, the staff have been remarkably unpleasant. Today was the final straw. I pride myself on being pleasant and treating people in food service with respect. I can make an enjoyable meal at home, and will choose to do so or drive further for Chinese before I go somewhere that the staff are going to be short with me for no reason. Due to the general unpleasant nature of the staff at this establishment, I will no longer be a patron here. The woman on the phone who took my order over the phone today was especially surly, then called back even more surly when my hubby wasn’t there in 10 minutes to get my food. I kindly explained that I was sorry and that he should be there shortly, and she hung up on me. To me, this is not acceptable customer service, even for take out. Also, the food is not amazing, just decent Chinese for what Sumter has to offer.
Favorite Take Out. We order from Hong Kong once a week and are so thankful to have them nearby. We have enjoyed almost everything from them-both chicken based and vegetarian dishes. Our favorite items are* chicken on a stick-savory chicken on skewers, cooked perfectly.*Vegetarian Mai Fun-thin rice noodles (GF) with a light sauce and vegetables.*Orange Chicken-breaded chicken in a sticky, sweet and mildly spicy sauce.*Black Pepper Chicken-a mild, peppery seared chicken and veg dish.*Vegetable Spring Rolls-thin, crispy wrapper filled with veggies.*Mixed Veggies-prepared with a savory sauce, nice variety of vegetables. One item I did not love was the wonton soup-the wontons were too thick and tough. Other than these dishes, we have tried the Mongolian chicken (OK) and General Tso’s chicken. (OK)The counter help is always attentive and efficient and the food is well prepared and packed for take out. A good value with large portions-both in the a la carte sizes and combination plates. (combos enough to share between 2 people) *RECOMMENDED.
Great food and nice staff. Came back into town for the holidays after 7 years and they still serve great food. Egg rolls and chicken on a stick are delicious values for your buck.
Had the mistake of eating there. Orange beef and sesame chicken. Both were cooked to jerky toughness.
My husband I always go to Hong Kong for chinese even though I worked at a local Chinese buffet in town! We love the sesame chicken combo with pork fried rice and an eggroll for 7.15 after tax
