First Review In Summerville. This place is amazing. It is a perfect example of not judging a book by its cover. The food was all made to order, the portions were huge, and the prices were more than reasonable. The inside of the restaurant was very clean, and at the time I went in, they were doing some upgrades to the stage, but were very apologetic for any inconvenience, even though I wasnt inconvenienced. At all. It was nice to see an establishment trying to keep making it better, which was a quote from the owner himself.Now to the specifics. The owner greeted us, came to our table, took our drink orders, and told the bartender. (We will get back to her in a minute!) He was genuinely nice, and seemed interested in everything we had to say. He made us feel like we were family there. The place had a good number of people there, but we never had to wait, or call out to anyone, for anything. The bartender was, interesting, to say the least. She brought out drinks to us, of course a Guinness, and the wife had a margarita. She then told us She was an awesome bartender, and a horrible waitress, and we were more than welcome to drop our fork on the floor if we needed her, because the noise would catch her, and she would have another one to us quickly now this might sound rather strange, and harsh, but I have to admit that the honesty was refreshing, and her entire attitude was just up-beat and friendly despite the fact that her arm was seriously injured. Which, she also made jokes about. Never once actually made us drop our fork either. She was right there when we needed her. She and the owner are total opposites of each other. It was like dinner and a show. He was sweet, caring and professional, and she was crass, witty and very comical, I have to admit even if the food was horrible, we would go back because of the service. Which the food wasnt by the way. I really was interested in how the Shepards Pie would stand up to others I had. It was not comparable. There was no frozen, premade junk here. It was an amazing tasting, amazingly HUGE dish, and even as much as I eat, I couldnt eat it all. Let me add, it was only $10.00. My wife had a chicken wrap with bacon and ranch dressing. Which she was told was better than the sandwich. The wrap was a better choice. Then we were offered a taste of the homemade Irish Cream, which would make the people who created Baileys want to quit their jobs. It was a little too sweet for me, but the wife had her sample, and 3 more. We took the famous burgers home, and ate them later. They were probably better to be eaten there, not hours later, but were still very good, and very unique. All in all, this is my favorite place in Summerville so far. I have about 6 more reviews to write this week, and none of them can compare to the quality and service of The Celtic Knot. We will be back again to check out the specials. Thank You,Brent
WOAH NELLY!!!!!!. This place is easy to miss (driving by) but HARD to forget! Great selection of beers & whiskey! EXCELLENT food, awesome drinks and super low prices! Oh, AND HOMEMADE. IRISH. CREAM. WHA WHA WHAT?!?!?! The Knott has it all! Always a cold shock top in a tall glass with irish lip prints for me!!! The staff is great! Like old friends you didn’t even know that you had! DO NOT judge a book by it’s cover. Come on in and you’re home!!!!
OUTSTANDING!!!. Food is EXCELLENT!!! If you like Irish Cream… well… They make their own and it is BULLETS!!! GREAT IRISH PUB!!!
What a pleasant surprise! We pulled up and weren’t sure about our choice, it definitely doesn’t look like a restaurant…we were glad we chose it!We had the breakfast burchy, bacon, fried egg, cheese, and hash browns on top of a crispy grilled burger…heaven! It was so full of flavor! The patty was thin BUT it was three dollars for a single patty. Deeelish!The selection was great and so were the prices. We ate until we were full and the bill was only $30. Best part of the night? A free shot of homemade Irish cream served by the owner who personally thanked us for coming, great service!!!
When me and my wife pulled in, it gave off more of a local bar impression. It didn’t appear friendly to non-locals, we walked in, and walked-out. It meant a lot that the owner spoked to us before leaving, and we might as well give it a shot. The food was great, more especially the Sheppards Pie was awesome. The music started off great, relaxing irish music, but for some reason then turned into hard rock, the kind I listen to at the gym to get pumped up, so that was kind of a downer. The waitress wasn’t the friendliest, until we we’re checking out. I think it would be worth another shot. I think it has a lot potential.
Nice apperance in the bar. Service leaves much to be desired. Apperantley if you are a regular you can get service. By service I mean the staff standing around talking with them while they ignore anyone else. If you value good service when you go to a bar. Then this is not where you want to go.
Tie One on!. You know….making your way in today’s world takes just about everything that you’ve got. Sometimes…you just want to go to a place- where everybody knows your name (no matter which one you decide to use!)! 😉 This place is always a great time! LOVE IT!!!!!
